Many women will go to extremes on Valentine’s Day to ensure everything is perfect, including a dazzling dress, shimmering make-up – and a fabulous hairstyle. Fortunately, you don’t have to pay a day’s worth of wages for a hairstylist or spend hours studying dozens of fashion magazines to figure out how to style your hair for a night out with Cupid. Here are five sexy styles that are perfect for the most romantic night of the year, along with tips and products to help you pull off that fabulous look:
Tousled, wavy hair is a playful, romantic look that is perfect for going out on Valentine’s Day. Start by blow drying your hair until it is halfway dry – the award-winning T3 Featherweight hair dryer is the perfect tool to maximize shine and keep the frizz down. (To add some volume and texture, work in some Oscar Blandi Hair Lift after your conditioner.) Finger dry your locks the rest of the way.
Next, use a large-barrel curling iron to curl large sections of your hair. For best results, choose an iron that delivers fast, even heat, such as the T3 SinglePass. Then run your fingers through your hair to separate the waves; flip your head down and repeat. A dab of texturizing cream, such as Philip B. Shin-Aid Pomade, will help give your waves definition. Finally, flip your hair back over and complete this romantic, wavy look by spritzing with a finishing spray such as Maui Wowie Beach Mist by Philip B. (a little texturizing cream would do the trick). Lastly, flip your hair back and finish it off this romantic, wavy look with a few sprits of hairspray.
Instead of the traditional perfectly tailored, coiffed hair that has been strategically placed and pinned, the messy up-do adds a lot of sexiness for Valentine’s Day. Work a splotch of mousse or some Oscar Blandi VOLUME spray through the back of your hair to create a bit of volume. Leaving some strands loose to frame your face, pull the majority of your hair into a high ponytail. Separate your ponytail into four or five sections and bring each section individually down; fold it over and into the base of the ponytail. Hold in place with bobby pins. Finish with a light misting of Oscar Blandi’s Olio di Jasmine Shine Spray for instant shine and fragrance.
Perched atop your head, with all of your hair pulled back, a bun projects the image of sophistication and business. Loosely drawn at the nape of your neck, with a few wisps framing your cheeks, however, a bun can be very glamorous and incredibly stunning. After drying and straightening your hair, add a few drops of RODIN Olio Lusso hair oil to your palms and work it into your hair to add a natural luster. Draw your hair into a pony tail at the back of your neck; round the hair over; and pin into place with bobby pins. Keep stray hairs in check with some Oscar Blandi Lacca hairspray.
Originally inspired from weddings, the half-up look is one of the best hairstyles to pull the focus not only to your beautiful face but also to the soft, curly locks that cuddle your back and shoulders. Apply a little Philip B. Anti-Frizz Formula 57, and blow-dry your hair completely with the T3 Featherweight to keep your locks sleek and frizz-free. Gather half of your hair into a ponytail and secure it with an elastic band. From there, take a curling iron and curl half-inch sections of your hair. Cover the rubber band with a stylish hair accessory to add some glamour.
This fun and attractive look is easy to achieve and adds an air of sass and charm to your Valentine’s ensemble. After creating an off-center part in your towel-dried hair, blow dry a little more with a paddle brush. Smooth the front part of your hair toward the back of your head and collect all of it on the opposite side the part is on. Secure with an elastic band. You can choose to leave your ponytail sleek and straight (use a T3 or other high-end flat iron to minimize heat damage) or give it some curl with a large-barrel curling iron. Add a spritz of Maui Wowie Beach Mist by Philip B. to complete the look.
Ok I know Valentine's is kind of a cheesy holiday to celebrate but I love getting presents so I always have the, "But it's Valentine's" line on the backburner for my hubby. This chocolates and flowers holiday will be here in just a few weeks so I thought I'd give some great ideas for my fellow beauty junkie sisters who are a little bit underwhelmed by the classic gifts. Here are some must have beauty items that will make a perfect Valentine's....
The latest addition to the Clarisonic family comes in pink or white and has been updated from the classic Mia by having two different speeds as well as a 60 second T-Timer to ensure you're cleasing for the required 60 seconds. This is a great one to give the male loved one in your life as well. Watch your skin change over the course of a few weeks due to it's powerful sonic cleansing that gently exfoliates dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
