Glamour. Gowns. Yachts. Veuve Clicquot Champagne. Beautiful People. If you've already guessed it, I'm talking about the Cannes Film Festival that runs from May 16th-27 and previews new films and documentaries from around the world. It is also the most prestigious and publicized film festival which also happens to be invitation only. If you're lucky enough to have your film nominated you're jet setting off to the sunny and chic south of France to hang with the toast of Hollywood.
So many parties and events surround the actual film festival so a girl needs a lot of different options from cocktail attire to gowns because in Cannes there's no such thing as recycling the same outfit. Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria is in Cannes on behalf of Loreal and rumor has it she brought thirty something gowns! Although the festival still has a few days left, I have been scouring over the photos to see who has been the most consistent in fabulous fashion choices and I'd have to say actress Naomi Watts has nailed it. As seen on instyle.com Naomi mixed up each outfit to keep it fresh and on trend but also within the same color palette.
Of course no fashion write-up is complete without addressing the key component to finalizing any cohesive look, the hair and makeup! From the slick back seen at the Met Ball, to soft curls and the return of the wine stained lip these ladies looked fantastic. As seen on vogue.com.uk, Indie singer Lana del Rey looked absolutely exquisite with large soft barrel curls and Jennifer Connelly looked enchanting with a bare décolletage and accessory of a deep wine stained lip. Re-create part of these hair looks with T3's Single Pass Whirl Curling Wand and the Single Pass 1" Straightening Iron to de-frizz hair before doing the sleek and smooth pull back. For those looking for Jennifer's lip shade you cannot go wrong with Jouer's Hydrating Lipstick in Phoebe.
Sugar-aholics don't just love the subtle and lingering aroma of a bakery door opening, the first tear in the wrapping of your favorite candy bar, or putting our fingers into the dough of mommas chocolate chip cookies. We live for those firsts, but my sweet tooth isn't only food related, it's food inspired beauty products as well. No brand does this quite as well as LaLicious.
Their bakery inspired products of body butters and oils leave our body feeling soft and supple but smelling like our favorite bakery ingredients of coconut, brown sugar and vanilla. One of their sugary cult favorite options (Sugar Kiss) has just launched a new body moisturizing mist called the LaLicious Sugar Kiss Everyday Everywhere Spray. Not just limited to the body, this light mist can be sprayed lightly over your pillow, sheets or any room to recreate the aromatic experience of mid summer nights and warm sunny days spent at the beach.
Infused with citrus, aromatic rose and subtle vanilla acts as a wake up call for your skin. The Sugar Kiss Everday Everwhere Spray is also filled with antioxidants like acai, ginseng and green tea to protect your skin cells from free radical damage. Enjoy this wonderful new product without the risk cavities and keep it in your purse for a refreshing spritz on-the-go.
The one style we constantly try to emulate but is difficult without a little seawater and sea breeze also happens to be one of Jennifer Aniston's signatures, beach hair. With the right styling products and tools, this vacation inspired hair trend isn't so complicated. One of Hollywood's leading hairstylists, Serge Normant, has broken the process down into five easy steps to achieve celebrity worthy beachiness…
Step 1. Pre air dry your hair in order to keep as much of your natural wave as possible.
Step 2. Apply Serge Normant's Spray Meta Lush Volumizer from root to tips to give flexibility and elasticity for the stye you're about to create.
Step 3. Create a middle part and smooth out the top layer to reduce unnecessary frizz.
Step 4. Use a little Serge Normant Meta Form Sculpting Pomade to give hair some texture before using a one inch curling iron or smaller to create your curls. Beachy curls aren't perfect so in order to have an 'undone' curl, I always recommend to leave the ends straight to give a more natural touch. In other words, don't wrap the entire strand around the barrel, but leave a 1-2 inch 'tail' hanging.
5. Flip your head over and scrunch up with your hands to loosen a little bit more. Then finally top it off with a little Serge Normant Meta Sheer Dry Oil Finishing Spray.
If you don't have a St Barth's or Miami trip planned anytime soon there's no need to worry, brush on your favorite bronzer and coral lipstick and rock your beach hair like a jetsetter!
