Dear b-glowing fashionistas: Today’s post is for the men in your life. Like cigars and martinis, the barbershop-style shave is back as one of the top grooming trends for men. Guys like to be pampered, and few refuse the treat of a sitting in a vintage barber chair for a hot towel, warm cream and straight razor. With the right tools, the effects of a great shave can last twice as long using a disposable razor in the shower.
Start warm. The best time to shave is just after a shower because the steam and moisture make the coarse hairs on your face plump and soft and the pores on your face open. An alternative to a shower is placing a hot, moist towel on your face for 10 minutes.
Exfoliate. Not just for girls, an exfoliating face wash will help open your pores, cleanse impurities in your skin, prime the hair follicles and raise the stubble on your face. Furthermore, exfoliating will help prevent the occurrence of ingrown hairs on your face and neck, which can appear as acne.Read More »
Keep your eyes in their prime with…..an eye primer! Toners, sunscreens and primers aren't typically at the top of people's beauty list but they're also highly underestimated. You never want to get a lemon which is why the New York Time's T Magazine blog recently showcased four eye primers that pack a punch, fulfill their promise and are well worth the price point. Two of those just happen to be from b-glowing.com!
Soleil Organique's Environmental Defense Eye Therapy protects skin around the eyes, smoothes fine lines, boosts collagen and camouflages dark circles with Hydrolized Soy Fiber, Peptides, and CoQ10. Best of all it serves a dual function of daily eye cream and primer in one!

Shop Marula - The Leakey Collection here!
African women have been reaping the rewards of Marula Oil for centuries and it's healing and regenerative properties are now in the limelight alongside it's co-competitor, argan oil. Entertainment industry professional Vicki Fischer recently wrote about the benefits of Marula The Leakey Collection's Marula Oil in her blog It's A Glam Thing.
One of the stand-out highlights is the fact that Marula Oil doesn't play favorites. It literally works for every skin type, from oily to dry, because of it's anti microbial properties and zero irritants that could inflame redness or sensitivity. The omega rich oil is hand extracted with precision and then cold pressed from wild harvested Marula nuts to create what is known as a 'true miracle oil.'
Tests show Marula Oil has more antioxidant power that Argan and also rated higher in fighting free radicals as a result of these higher levels. It can be used as a moisturizer or mixed into your cleanser for optimal moisture retention. If you have a tinted moisturizer or foundation you refuse to give up then simply add a couple drops of Marula and your complexion will look and feel amazing!

Independence Day is just over a week away and I bet you have the barbecue food ideas in full swing but what about your overall 4th of July look? I like to think of Independence Day as a very toned down Halloween, giving me every excuse in the world to DIY that full size American flag into a rocking skirt or strapless dress. Pay tribute to your country by showing off some patriotic inspired beauty from our red, white and beautiful picks:
Create American flag inspired nails with three important shades from Deborah Lippmann. From left to right: Do Ya Think I'm Sexy (risqué red sequin), Lady Sings the Blues (silver sparkled blue), and Boom Boom Pow (glamorous gold). To create that popular ombre trend you can't go wrong with The New Black's Horizon Ombre Nail Polish 5 Piece Set.
Red lips are an absolute must. In our latest 4th of July beauty shoot (shown far left) we channeled classic Hollywood with pin curls, blue eyeshadow and bright, matte red courtesy of Kevyn Aucoin. With a velvety smooth application and zero fading or smudge, these lipsticks will last throughout the day, perhaps even through that 4th of July hot dog or hamburger!Read More »

Achieving the perfect bronze isn't as easy as you would think. Plus, there's a fine line between going overboard with the self tanner and gold eyeshadow and looking like you're just perfectly sun kissed. Whether you're wanting to enhance an existing tan or give yourself a beautiful golden glow, I think it's safe to say that the Nuxe Paris Multi Usage Dry Oil can do no wrong.
It was just featured in July's Allure magazine as part of the 6 steps to achieve a stunning 'head to toe bronze.' Although they've suggested running a few drops of the oil throughout your hair to add a pretty golden sheen and smooth flyaways this super conditioning dry oil can also be used as a body moisturizer. I love to apply it on my décolleté, collarbone and tops of shoulders to create that gorgeous summer glow and also deeply condition my skin. Tiny mother of pearl particles creates the luminosity while bronzing dry oil softly enhances your tan to perfection.

Two features in one week? I think Frederic Fekkai's Cooling Shine Mist is onto something. If this isn't enough hint that this summer designed hair styling product is amaze balls I don't know what is! Chosen as an beauty editor's favorite in July's Allure magazine because, "The peppermint oil in this shine spray feels so refreshing, you'll want to spritz it over and over again--and you can, because the light formula doesn't gunk up your hair."
I totally love that we can say more is less with the Cooling Shine Mist as normally the approach to beauty has always been the opposite: less is more, since once you cross a line you typically have to wash your hair or face and start over again. Summertime is all about low maintenance beauty, just wash and let the ocean breeze air dry it to just got out of bed perfection. Spray on this refreshing mist for a beautiful shine as well as UV protectant!

I much prefer liquid or creamy based eyeliners than powder. For one, I've had a bad run with powder eyeshadows when I try to be wet my brush and attempt to turn them into a wetter consistency for lining. Although some powder shadows are meant to be able to do this, I still find that after I draw my line, tiny powder particles seem to land on my upper cheeks throughout the day. As I'm constantly touching my face, there have been some smudging 'accidents that make me look I'm going out for the football team. Luckily for me, we just got in some amazing new eyeliners in store!
Kevyn Aucoin's Precision Liquid Liner comes with a felt tip applicator for easy lining or more daredevil accuracy for a dramatic cat eye. It's also waterproof so will hold onto your eyelids for dear life, come rain, sleet, sweat or snow. As it's a quick drying formulation, there's no need for you to not blink for two minutes nor fan your eyes (come on ladies we've all been there).
There's no point investing in a creme liner without knowing you're going to be applying it with an amazing brush. EF | STUDIO's Creme Eye Liner & Precision Point Liner Brush has everything you need for $40. The double ended liner brush is one of the finest engineered brushes on the market making it effortless to apply creamy or water based eye products. The Creme Eye Liner in Kuro has the most luxurious feel and will work for all skin types. It can be used to create sleek, sexy lines or it doubles as a great shadow to create the iconic smoky eye. No smudging, flaking or streaking!
I'm very excited to enhance my eye area with the EF | STUDIO Eye Gloss Transparent which I'm hoping is a much less stickier and tackier version than Mac's Eye Glass. I love the dewy, sensual finish it leaves on your eyes, but not the feeling that your eyelids are stuck. With EF | STUDIO's, it contains moisturizing properties to preserve the natural suppleness of the eye area so it leaves a beautiful wet look to lids without the stick!Read More »
Kinda drooling over Becca's new Balearic Love Collection that just arrived! Inspired by distant shores, romantic temptation and stolen glances with a handsome stranger. It's no wonder you feel like you're watching something you shouldn't in these photos. The whole range is just plain seductive and sexy, with an emphasis on smoky eyes, sun kissed skin and berry stained lips.
To achieve this bronzed earth goddess look begin to lightly pat Becca's Eye Tint in Romanticism on
the lid with fingertips. This highly pigmented eye color goes on as a creme but dries as powder leaving a beautiful mauve bronze color to the lid.
The draw is clearly the eyes in the photo and you enhance this smoldering look even more with the Balearic Love Palette filled with three sensuous hues of bronze, plum and violet. Begin by applying Marcella all over the eye, blending into the crease line and intensifying at the outer edges. Next, sweep Romal over the eyelids from lash line but stopping at the crease line. Lastly, accentuate the inner corners of the eyes with Atlas. To make eyes pop even more, find a soft violet eyeliner and rim the top and bottom of eyelids. Finish with Becca's Ultimate Mascara.
Contour the face, blending under the cheekbones into the hollows of the cheeks with Becca's
Mineral Powder Blush in Bolero. This delicate powder brush is infused with micro fine minerals that deliver a soft glow and demi matte bronze color to the
Lastly use Becca Sheer Tint Lip Color in Valentina to give a hint of soft raspberry color and subtle shine to the lips. A formulation so light and creamy it enhances the natural tone of lips while making them appear healthy, moist and full.Read More »
