"No More Waity, Katie" butter LONDON in The New York Times

Posted on 02/28/2011

b-glowing.com is the EXCLUSIVE N. American retailer of butter LONDON's new "No More Waity, Katie".  This morning the NY Times came out with a lovely piece about this nail lacquer homage to the Royal Wedding!

"What: No More Waity Katie nail lacquer.

Where: b-glowing.com

Why bother: Kate Middleton, the Princess in Waiting, has young women around the world clamoring to copy her wardrobe and style. A new limited-edition nail polish called No More Waity Katie, by Butter London, pays tribute to the dark-haired beauty who snagged Prince William after years of on-again, off-again New York-style dating. The polish is a shade of greige (gray and beige combined) with a splash of lilac glitter. It’s rich, royal and perfectly princessy. Butter polishes are all toxin free (no formaldehyde or carcinogens) and favored by celebs including Rihanna and the fashion princess Kate Moss (who will also be married this summer). Now let the focus return to Middleton’s wedding dress for the April nuptials.

How Much: $14 for 4 fluid ounces."

butter LONDON "No More Waity, Katie", Patyka, Olivella & PRTTY Peaushun, MADARA & ko Denmark in GOOP!

Posted on 04/21/2011

We love Gwenyth Paltrow for her elegant style and impeccable taste! We love her even more now since she has found some of her good taste at b-glowing.com in the likes of Patyka, Olivella, butter LONDON’s No More Waity, Katie Lip Lacquerand PRTTY Peaushun!  When we opened our Goop email from her this morning (her daily mailing about natural things to do, make, wear, get, etc) we were thrilled to see she included some of our favorites that we’ve sent her.

No More Waity, Katie

Butter LONDON “No More Waity, Katie:   “Butter London makes a line of "3 Free" polishes which are free from formaldehyde, toluene, and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)—three ingredients found in most nail lacquers. They mix great colors including this great sparkly purple in honor of the upcoming royal wedding, a sparkly purple, "No More Waity, Katie."

Absolis Face & Body Serum

Patyka:  “Patyka is a French brand that has two product lines—Absolis (body washes, facial cleansers and creams), and Biokaliftin (anti-wrinkle serums and the like)—that are pretty intense. Just look at their website; each and every product has an extensive list of all of the natural active ingredients and the wonders they do for your skin. And to top it off, the packaging is gorgeous.”

PRTTY PEAUSHUN Skin Tight Body Lotion

PRTTY Peaushun:  “Tracy Anderson told me about this stuff, which is the new miracle cream. Developed by a Hollywood makeup artist, Bethany Karlyn, this cream makes the skin glow and brings out muscle tone—making it a great one for parties and public appearances.”

Olivella Face Cleansing Tissues (30 tissues)

Olivella:  “Olivella is a huge line of olive oil-based products including creams, cleansers, shower gels, soaps, etc. The products are all allergen and scent-free and because they’re olive oil based, they’re full of vitamins A & E which are great for the skin. The cleansing wipes are especially handy for a quick wash at the beginning or end of the day”

MADARA:  "Madara is another line of eco and organic products developed by a woman who, unable to find exactly what she wanted, made it herself. Now her line includes shampoos, moisturizers, bath soaps, cellulite reducers, facial moisturizers and even a line for organic baby care."

Organic Jasmine + Neroli Roll On Perfume

Ko Denmark:  "Henriette Holst has kept things simple with her line of natural body washes and moisturizers. They’re based on two key ingredients—neroli and jasmine—which have a wonderful scent."

Beauty Madness in NYC!

Posted on 09/14/2011

I just got back from a whirlwind  48 hour trip to New York City. I'm embarrassed to say that I'm a NYC virgin. I don't know what took me so long to get there but am grateful that I finally got the chance to go and from what I experienced, cannot wait to get back there again.

In actuality, I'm kind of glad it took me 31 years. As a tomboyish teenager, there was no big draw card as I didn't have an interest in fashion, architecture, or food. To me, vacation meant sandy beach or at least a water park.

Butter London Backstage at New York Fashion Week!

Posted on 09/16/2011

To keep with all things fashion related due to New York Fashion Week I thought it would be fun to write about one of our favorite nail polish brands, Butter London. I had the pleasure of speaking with the super gorgeous and trendy creator of this in demand lacquer range, Nonie Creme, at the pop up shop at Milk Made Studios in West Village.

Even more exciting, Nonie and her team have been lacquering many a model behind the edgiest designers at New York Fashion Week. I got to see a glimpse inside the madness when I followed her backstage for the Yigal Azrouel show, where it was all about vampy sex appeal. Nonie and the girls used La Moss, which is a vixenish deep red. Picture goblets of red wine overflowing and you'll get the picture. The shade looked amazing and really popped against the more muted makeup the models were sporting.

"THE" Shade for Autumn 2011-Butter London's Wallis!

Posted on 09/19/2011

If you like to follow the latest fashion and beauty trends to hit the catwalks of New York and Europe then might we suggest a nail polish shade that has interestingly been all the rage--green. Yes, green has occasionally been considered a "dirty" color, but according to Butter London's Creative Director Nonie Creme,  "dirty" is the new rage.

The nail trends for Autumn/Winter 2011 are all about reflecting a luxe-grunge persona, and your lacquers should be reminiscent of a dirty, tarnished jewel so to speak. Instead of the bright deep red of a ruby, choose a garnet; or a dirty teal instead of a sapphire.

Best Winter Nail Polish Colors

Posted on 11/17/2011

Elle.com recently did a post about some of the hot nail trends for the Holiday/Winter 2011 season and some of our favorite nail lacquers made the cut! Stay on trend and be festive and fabulous by rocking some of the shades below.

1. Denim inspired navy tones. They used to be big a couple seasons ago and now they're experiencing a resurrection. Deborah Lippmann's Lady Sings The Blues offers a shimmering navy shade with tiny flecks of glitter. If you want to nix the sparkle and go for a wearable matte navy hue then take a look at Butter London's Royal Navy.

Lady Sings the Blues                    Royal Navy Nail Lacquer

2. Muted Gold. Instead of glistening gold that can be seen from down the street, opt for more muted, brassy tones. Think antique! Deborah Lippmann's Believe is a golden beige shade that's soft hue looks great on everyone. For another great option, you can't go wrong with Butter London's Wallis. This tarnished gold was custom blended by creative director Nonie Creme for the Betsy Johnson runway show so no wonder it was a hit!

Mardi Gras Nail Ideas

Posted on 02/20/2012

Deborah Lippman Bad RomanceWhether you’re the flashy type or not, you can’t go wrong with rocking a Mardi Gars manicure this time of year. Skip the salon and style your nails at home using the following techniques, along with the butter LONDON and Deborah Lippman versions of the classic Mardi Gras colors – purple, green, black and gold.

Dotted Nails. Whip out your dot-making manicure tool (a toothpick also works) to make a fun Mardi Gars-inspired dotted design on your nails. For example, paint your nails all black. When the polish dries, top it with a vertical row of dots using a different colors of lacquer on each finger. For the most pizzazz, use butter LONDON’s “British Racing Green,” Deborah Lippman’s “Boom Boom Pow” gold glitter polish and Deborah Lippman’s “Purple Rain” for the dots.

3 Great Nail Colors for Valentine’s Day

Posted on 02/08/2012

butter LONDON ChancerAdd romance to every inch of your body and complete your Valentine’s Day look with a great nail color. While your hot date may only last one night, a pretty nail color can help revitalize the look of your hands and keep you feeling pretty throughout the rest of the week. Here are some of our top picks for Valentine’s Day nail polish, from Deborah Lippman and butter LONDON:

1. Pink. Pink is the universal color of love and can help induce feelings of amour, acceptance, caring, tenderness, friendship and, most importantly for Valentine’s Day, romance. For a sheer, flirty color, try “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Deborah Lippman. This nail color is a mix of sweet pink frosting and the glimmering of pearls. For something a little darker, go for “Dahling” nail lacquer by butter LONDON – it’s a dusty rose color that’s feminine and perfect for any skin tone.

Get Your Irish on: Green Nail Colors for St. Paddy’s Day

Posted on 03/07/2012

butter LONDON DoshYou don’t have to dress like a leprechaun’s twin sister to show your Irish spirit. A splash of green on your fingers from your friends at Deborah Lippman or butter LONDON is all you need to make a fashion-forward statement and avoid the dreaded St. Patrick’s Day pinching. This year, our two favorite nail gurus offer a wide selection of rich, on-trend green lacquers for one of the year’s biggest party nights:

Don’t Tell Mama. Announced as Kelly Rippa’s favorite stocking stuffer, “Don’t Tell Mama” from Deborah Lippman is a dark evergreen polish with a hint of sophisticated glimmer. The color is like a mood ring, straddling the line between the dark green shade that means you’re happy and the blue color that means you’re in love.

Across the Universe. With this Deborah Lippman polish, you’ll look like you’re holding Irish stars in your hands. “Across the Universe” is packed with chunky, bright, metallic blue and green glitter, along with specks of sheer navy sparkles. Use this color on an accent nail or to create a French tip with “Don’t Tell Mama” as the base color.

Nail Skins: Easy, Inexpensive Nail Designs

Posted on 03/13/2012

butter LONDON Nail Skin: Black BirdNail designs are all the rage, but it can be hard to find the time (or the cash) to hit up the local salon for an intricate, professionally applied nail design. This is where butter LONDON comes to the rescue with its latest innovation: stick-on nail skins. Remember the space-age cartoon “The Jetsons”? When the girls put on nail polish, it was applied in an instant and dried just as fast. This is kind of how nail skins work.

Nail Skin Options

As of February 2012, butter LONDON offers three nail skin designs: Leopard, Give & Take and Black Bird. The Leopard nail skin features the traditional animal print, with black spots on a yellowish-tan background. Give & Take is a skin with a beige background color and black letters that spell out the words “give” and “take.” Each letter is on an individual nail, and the extra nails have bird silhouettes. Black Bird has a black background with bright flowers and outlines of butter LONDON’s signature bird.

To avoid potential health problems associated with acetone, many nail enthusiasts are choosing acetone-free products, such as butter LONDON nail polish remover. butter LONDON is committed to keeping its fashion-forward customers healthy and beautiful by offering better-for-you solutions.

Possible effects of using an acetone-based nail polish remover include:

  • Dry and weakened nails
  • Skin irritation

  • Dizziness
  • Light -headedness
  • Feelings of drunkenness
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Butter London Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

Posted on 07/17/2012

Shop the full Butter London nail polish collection here!

I always get a kick out of the lacquer names every season from Butter London. Although most of them have 'brit-slang' origins I tend to have heard them before, however for a few from the latest Fall/Winter 2012 collection I had to hit urban dictionary…

Butter London Trustafarian is a sage green shade flecked with gold. You don't have to be a 'privileged white kid who subscribes to the hippie lifestyle,' as urban dictionary explains to wear this particular shade.

Butter London Lovely Jubbly is a vibrant magenta flecked with red, blue, and gold micro particles. I haven't been on a drug induced trip but it definitely has a throwback to the 70's with a distinct retro vibe. This is a Studio 54 polish if there ever was one.

Butter London Gobsmacked is a heavily pigmented charcoal gray lacquer that gives a slightly textured appearance. I for one love anything gray borderlining black shades and I like that is has some subtle glitter to it. It's comparable to a starry night!

Butter London Shag is my favorite standout from the range. I haven't seen a shade like it before with it's orange burgundy fusion. Almost looks like an antique polish and think it's perfect for the fall season.

Butter London Dodgy Barnett blurs the line between gray and silver. Highly holographic it almost resembles liquid metal on your fingertips...

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 - Butter London Nails!

Posted on 09/14/2012

Shop all the Butter London nail lacquers here!

Another season of great fashion has ended so it's time to reflect on some gorgeous nail trends seen at New York Fashion Weeks Spring/Summer 2013 shows. Butter London is responsible for creating gorgeous bespoke shades for many of the hottest shows and this year was no exception. However, I did notice there seemed to be a love of natural manicured nails at many of the shows at you can see below.

Starting off my favorite of the bunch was from the VEDA show. The inspiration for this show was a 'Cosmic Nail' with a mix of mauve and olive with celestial effects. To add an edge to the look, a glossy black stripe was added for a geometric element. The nails were complimented by soft makeup and mohawks. Recreate the Veda look yourself with a mix of Sloane Ranger, Toff, Knackered and Gobsmacked.

It was all about rock and roll for the Kaleen show which translated to a grungy, distressed nail. Using black as the base a nude khaki was then layered in jagged strokes from the top of the nail bed upwards creating a backwards french manicure. For added dimension, matte out the only the black section, creating a dual textured look full of disheveled luxury. Get the look with Yummy Mummy and your favorite black lacquer!

Erin Featherston is known for her signature girly meets industrial edge and this season she complimented flirty, feminine silhouettes with a soft metallic nail. Metallic nails mimic the look of jewelry so the nails served as the eye catching bling in lavender and silver tones. Recreate this with Butter London's Dodgy Barnett and Shag.

Band of Outsiders and The Row were all about the naked, minimalist nail. Squeaky clean nails aren't as easy to do as you think. It's like being naked and having your flaws on full display so make sure your nails beds are buffed, filed and properly cleaned underneath. Start by applying a base coat of the the Horsepower Nail Fertilizer to strengthen and then Butter London's Nail Foundation to create an even perfect foundation. Finish off with the Hardwear P.D Quick Topcoat or Matte Finish to leave nails minimalistically gorgeous!

Enter our New York Fashion Week Themed Giveaway!

Posted on 09/25/2012

Every season I look forward to seeing the latest fashion and beauty trends seen on the runways at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. From the crazy monobrows, sultry cat eye, to the big bouffant hair, there's always a certain look that catches my eye and I know I'm going to be attempting to recreate it at home. However, with that comes its trials and tribulations if you don't have the exact brands that were made to take these models from ordinary (ok, not all of them) to extraordinary. Our latest giveaway answers all those problems by giving alway the very same products used to create some of the hair, nails and makeup looks seen at the Spring 2013 runway shows. Without further adieu, these are the items one lucky winner will take home in this $400 prize:

Butter London was responsible for many of the gorgeous nails at Erin Featherston, Kaleen, Band of Outsiders and more. Our favorite look was the cosmic inspired nail seen at VEDA. A mix of Sloane Ranger, Toff, Knackered and Union Jack Black worked together to create a celestial effect with a sharp, glossy black stripe for a geometric effect. All of these are part of the prize!

T3 hair tools are well respected by hair professionals and customers alike so it's pretty easy to surmise that  it's the go-to brand to create gorgeous hair at the shows. This was the case at the J. Mendel Spring 2013 show which was all about the strong female with polished and shiny hair with dented waves. The first step to create this was the T3 Featherweight 2 hair dryer. One lucky winner will win this before its even launched on b-glowing! It delivers lightening fast drying while reducing frizz and amplifying body and shine.

If there's a makeup brand that's meant to be seen on the runway its Ellis Faas. Highly pigmented shades and bullet style packaging makes it convenient for a busy model or everyday woman on the go. Used at indie fashion designer Keo's show, you'll be able to win three of the items used: Creamy Eyes in E107 in neutral greige, Ellis Faas Eyeliner in E501 and Milky Lips in L205.

Skyn Iceland's natural skincare range is perfectly suited to prep models skin before makeup application for it's ability to instantly soothe and revive stressed skin. One of the items that is a before the runway staple is their Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. A favorite of stylist Rachel Zoe and "The Doctors' tv show, these eye pads are an efficient way to de-puff and reduce premature eye wrinkling in just ten minutes!

The beautyblender is pretty much guaranteed to be seen in the hand of every single makeup artist at every show or photoshoot. This simple egg shaped sponge allows for a photoshop worth foundation finish and it's dome like shape also allows for easy contouring of the nose and under eye area. It creates the perfect canvas for the rest of your makeup.

What's Trending Fall 2012 - OxBlood Hues

Posted on 10/08/2012

Whether you want to call it burgundy, bordeaux or a saturated blue-red hybrid, ox-blood hues are trending big time in the beauty and fashion world. One of the best things about this Fall 2012 color trend is that it looks good on just about everybody! Alexander, Rodarte and Acne all had bursts of this reddish brown luxe shade on the runways so we thought we'd include our favorite ox-blood shaded beauty picks just in case you want to rock it on your nails or lips!

La Moss by Butter London is one their most popular shades as well as a staff favorite around the office for it's deep, mysterious hue. Is it black or is it bordeaux? Depending on the light you find yourself in, it can look like a deep wine color that has been marinating for years. Match it up with the La Moss Lippy for an extra oomph. RGB Cosmetics OxBlood Nail Color is another fantastic option for your nails.

For a rich, true blood stained lip we love Ilia Lipstick in Femme Fatale. This organic lipstick combines pure ingredients and a truly moisturizing formulation that leaves lips begging you to come-hither. An irresisistible shade for a woman who wants to remain mysterious. By Terry's Fall 2012 Luxuriant Collection has included a Mascara Terrybly in Iconic Bordeaux to coat lashes in one of falls trendiest shades as well as activating growth!

Embrace Winter Blues!

Posted on 10/15/2012

When you feel those winter blues, turn them on their head and harness it into a new nail trend! Sultry midnight blues and even navy will be heavy this season so we've gathered some of our favorite hues to make your selection that much easier.

Like hair, ombre nails are such a fun way to break out of the typical one shade manicure and The New Black's Horizon Ombre Set is a definite head turner. If you can't choose just one shade you'll love this transcending color scheme palette that offers five different shades to rock individually on each nail or wear your favorite!

Deborah Lippmann's Lady Sings the Blues is a sparkled black 'n blue that is ideal to compliment a cocktail dress or to a festive holiday party. Color Club's Chelsea Girl is an ultra bright true blue that could be considered neon. Wear this with everyday outfit for a pop of color that compliments the Fall/Winter 2012 nail trend.

Butter London's Blagger is  a striking cobalt blue that definitely makes a statement. Other nice variations of the shade could be Big Smoke (metallic navy) and Royal Navy (naughty nautical blue).

b-CREATIVE Gilded Glamour Holiday 2012 Look

Posted on 12/11/2012

We're gifting you this holiday season with the 'midas touch'! For the woman with a creative flair who loves to create beauty and make a statement then this is a look you're going to love. Incorporate some or all of the steps into your New Years Eve makeup routine for a glowing and gilded look that guarantees wow factor...

For this look, the main focal point is going to be the eyes and there is no better product to put people under your spell then the Ellis Faas Eye Lights in E303. Much more than a highlighter or eyeshadow, it creates the illusion of metallic eyes by appearing moist and wet but is actually perfectly dry. Create even more depth by lining upper and lower lashes with the Kevyn Aucoin Eye Pencil Primatif and finishing off the eyes with the Ellis Faas Mascara. A staff favorite this mascara delivers big and full lashes like you've never seen before.

You can't go gold without complimenting it with a romantic glow and the Halo Gold Leaf Balm by Belmacz offers a subtle gold shine to inner corners of eyes and bridge of nose. Next, apply Butter London's West End Wonderland, in a densely pigmented gold all over the lip area for an instant luxe look and pair it up on the nails with Butter London's Full Monty Nail Lacquer.

The last thing we want when doing a strong shimmer makeup look is a shiny complexion so mattify the face with the Ellis Faas Powder to create a flawless and shine free canvas. Add the final note of dramatic flair by spritzing a few sprays of Evening Edged in Gold Eau de Parfum by Ineke. This opulent fragrance creates a sensual warmth with night scented flowers that is idea for any sparkling soirees.

Fall 2013 Fashion Week - Butter London Nails It

Posted on 02/12/2013

Shop Butter London here!

It's no wonder Butter London gets invited back season after season by some of Americas most talented fashion designers to adorn the nails of the beautiful people as they strut the catwalks. Creating custom made polishes is what they're known for and occasionally some of these actually get made into retail polishes down the road (we hope)! Here are some of our favorite looks from Fashion Week…

La Perla is all about beautiful lingerie and bare skin so it was only fitting that dare to bare nails was this years nail theme. Perfect timing too because Butter London just released their Starkers Collection, a trio of bespoke nudes designed to match every skin tone for a very chic statement. The model below is wearing Tea & Toast!

The nails at the Dannijo were brooding, mysterious and seductive courtesy of Butter London's La Moss in vampy, wine infused red along with matching lips with the La Moss Lippy.

For those who love a great black nail like me, you'll love the look at Prabal Gurung. If not, think about embracing your moodier side and enjoy this fun play with textures by grabbing your favorite black nail lacquer, paint 2 coats and immediately follow with Butter London's Matte Finish Top Coat. Allow to dry and then with PD Quick Top Coat apply a thin line across the tip of the nail like you would with a french manicure. Voila - a play on matte & shiny!

From letf to right nails seen at La Perla, Dannijo and Prabal Gurung.

Valentines Day Nail Tutorial

Posted on 02/14/2013

Happy Valentine's Day to our amazing staff and customers! On this very special loved up day we thought it would be fun to show you how to re-create one of our favorite nail looks using some of our favorite ever Butter London collections - Sweetie Shop!  The Spring 2013 range instantly drew our attention with its adorably cute pastel shades reminiscent of all the sweet indulgences at the candy shop. To create the look below you will need Cuppa, Fiver, Molly-Coddled, Kerfuffle, Fruit Machine and Jasper.

Step 1: Have a bit of nail length before you attempt this look. File your nails into more of a rounded shape or if you're daring at more of a point is preferable as it needs to look somewhat like the bottom pointy tip of a heart.

Step 2: Apply your base coat. Next, grab Butter London's Cuppa nail lacquer and apply 2 x coats. It's imperative that you let this completely dry before proceeding to the next step. We waited about three hours in between Step 2 & 3.

Step 3: Using scotch tape cut out a stencil of the round part of a heart. You can try to attempt drawing the heart free hand if you have a steady hand. We found it was easiest to draw our shape with a pen (like a lowercase m) and then cut it out. Create a nail stencil for each nail as they are all different widths.  Next, apply the tape about a third of the way on your nail bed.

Step 4: Choosing a pastel shade paint 1-2 thin coats over the nail and make sure it completely dries prior to removing the tape. Proceed to do the same thing on all the remaining fingers utilizing a different pastel shade.

Step 5: If you want to make it even more Valentin-ey find a red nail pen or use a toothpick and write XO on your ring or middle finger on each hand.

Step 6: Enjoy your adorable nails and the compliments you will get from everyone! Happy Valentines Day from the b-glowing team!

b-glowing Exclusive - Butter London Royal Punch Acetone Free Polish Remover

Posted on 02/28/2013

Shop Butter London here!

Acetone nail polish is not simpatico when it comes to nail health. This harsh smelling and highly flammable liquid may remove the most stubborn of nail lacquers with ease, however I always wonder what it's doing to my nails when the same liquid is capable of disintegrating even plastic.

If you're concerned about chemicals in beauty products and the overall health of your nails then you'll love Butter London's Royal Punch Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover. Exclusively sold at b-glowing, this coconut mango scented remover gently removes all traces of lacquer without using any nasty chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, bismuth and other nasties. Fresh and fruity, I love that this lacquer remover smells so tropical!

Make Beauty. Escape™ Runner-Up Shares Her Favorite Picks!

Posted on 03/22/2013

Our Make Beauty. Escape™ runner-up Cydrienne is loving her resort beauty prize pack featuring the 26 products we never travel without. She's been playing with them all but a few favorites have caught her attention from Clarisonic, Butter London, Vapour Organic Beauty and Kai. If you didn't get the chance to enter to win our luxury trip to Hawaii stay tuned as a new destination will be revealed in the next few months!

Butter London Nail Polish: "I'm really big on nail polish and absolutely loved that the package came with SIX colors from Butter London's Sweetie Shop Collection. The color I have on is Kerfuffle. This light pink is perfect for the start of spring and its subtleness pairs well with my outfits for work or play."

Clairsonic Surf Mia2: "I rarely use anything else besides soap and water to wash my face at night since I have sensitive skin so I was skeptical about using the Clairsonic. The first time I tried it, however, I found my skin feeling soft and extremely clean. The plus side is that my face didn't have any bad reactions to the Clairsonic cleanser. "

Kai Body Lotion: "I was born and raised in Hawaii so the Kai lotion smells exactly like the plumeria flowers that grow abundantly in Hawaii. It triggered happy memories of having a plumeria tucked behind my ear during a day at the beach or dancing hula wearing a lei of plumerias. Not only does it smell great,  but it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and not oily like other lotions tend to do."

Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi-Use Blush: "I am a fan of make-up that is compact and easy to use so I definitely love the Vapour Blush stick. The color compliments my skin and the compact stick is perfect for when I am on the go and don't have time (or patience) to do my make-up at home."

BODY:
St. Tropez - St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body won "Best Beauty Buy" for the Body Self-Tanner category. We love the healthy, streak-free color this nourishing body moisturizer provides. Klorane's Dry Shampoo was also highlighted in the "Freak-Out Fixers!" insert as an emergency essential! Also available in Travel Size.

LIPS:
Ellis Faas - Featured in the "Freeze Frame" segment of "What's Now", Ellis Faas Milky Lips in L201 was used on Gwyneth Paltrow's "Pepper" character in Iron Man 3, hitting theaters this summer. The film's makeup artist, Kate Biscoe, chose this shade for Paltrow because it, " … is a true blood red that doesn't look magenta and goes on liquid." Biscoe describes Pepper's look as "classy but not glitzy." We think L201 is the perfect choice for Pepper's red hair and flawless skin.

NAILS:
butter LONDON - In 'Ask the Editor', buttercup-yellow shade Jasper from butter LONDON was hailed as the perfect complement to purple. Try this pairing on nails and toes to keep your mani-pedi color wheel-correct. butter LONDON's oxblood red La Moss was also used on Emily Blunt's nails for her  cover shoot.

Deborah Lippmann - Deborah Lippman's opaque nude shade, Fashion, was chosen as the best nail color to complement olive or caramel skin tones. We love this taupe color on any hand or foot! And it's the perfect pick for spring's nude nail trend.

SKIN:
Eau Thermale Avène - Scoring "Best Beauty Buy" in the Dry Skin Mask category, Avène's Soothing Moisture Mask is a rich, creamy, non-setting mask with intensive moisturizing and soothing care, perfect for dehydrated and overstressed skin. We love that this product is hypoallergenic and minimizes redness.

Staff Holiday 2012 Gift Picks - Kelsey

Posted on 11/21/2012

Everyone needs a little help navigating the wealth of fantastic beauty products b-glowing has to offer and who better to give you some giftable suggestions then our b-glowing elf (or inventory manager) Kelsey! She has a classic, sophisticated taste and doesn't mind splurging on skincare when she knows the results are going to be worth it. Here are three of the items she has her eye on this Christmas:

Kels wants to keep her mane in tip-top shape with the help of a Popular Mason Pearson Brush. Although a brush isn't something she would necessarily buy for herself, if she did receive it she knows she would use it the rest of her life. Mason Pearson brushes are so well made they're designed to strengthen and protect the hair by transferring sebum from the root along the hair strand. This translates to healthy and shiny hair like you've never seen before.

Kelsey is always changing up nail lacquers and lipstick shades so she loves the 2-for-1 you get with Butter London's Lips & Tips. She has her eye on Yummy Mummy because both the medium beige lacquer and matching lippy are the perfect shade for anytime of year. Nude goes with any outfit so there's no need to switch up nail polishes if your outfit colors change up throughout the week.

If you're going to splurge you can't go wrong with a Clarisonic. Although Kels is in her mid 20's, it's never to early to start taking great care of your skin which is why she would love the Clarisonic Opal in Black! According to her, she needs to start 'ramping up my anti-aging regimen and under eye is the place to start!' The Opal is a delivery system that uses sonic infusion to penetrate into eye creases and infuse an age fighting sea serum to plump and refine the area.

Stay tuned for more staff picks to help make holiday shopping a little more helpful and fun!
