We’re so excited to be stocking Deborah Lippmann, the in-demand manicurist to the stars, beautiful array of lacquers as well as her award-winning treatments for nails, hands and feet.
The great thing about Deborah Lippmann nail lacquers is that they offer the perfect consistency to layer and build your shades. Any of the glitter polishes such as the popular Glitter In The Air, Across The Universe, and Happy Birthday shades can be layered 1-2 times to allow a hint of glitter or numerous coats so your nails look as flashy as a discotheque! (highlight these shades in bold with links to site)
If glitter is not in your repertoire, don’t worry there will be a shade to strike your fancy with options of corals, reds, purples, blues and the very popular color gracing many a magazine’s beauty page as the trendy shade for summer…Yellow!

A lot of well deserved hype has been given to Becca’s latest Halcyon Days Collection. Tantalizing bronze, to warm corals, and blushing pinks, this collection really epitomizes the summer beauty trend for 2011.
Becca’s Dancing Barefoot is one of the most popular nail lacquers in the collection so I wanted to give an extra bit of attention towards this fantastic trio of summer shades from this collection.

Nail polish is the new lipstick. I used to constantly read the beauty sections and checkout all the new makeup trends, which usually centered around the best lipsticks or glosses for the season, whether it be deep red, plum, or coral. But now when I check out the beauty sections there seems to be a much bigger emphasis on the latest nail trends.
My nail polish collection has all of a sudden outnumbered my lipsticks which has never happened before. If you think about it, nail polish is just as much of an accessory as a great pair of sunglasses or fabulous pumps. Instead of wearing a neutral polish for two weeks that will go with many outfits, I find myself changing my polish multiple times a week depending on what I'm wearing.
In saying that, never before has it been as safe to wear nail polish. More and more brands are coming out such as Deborah Lippmann that have 3-Free Formulations, meaning that they are free of unsafe chemicals such as Formaldehyde, Toulene, and DBP. Without sacrificing quality or color, these nail brands are paving the way in the nail lacquer realm.Read More »
If you like to follow the latest fashion and beauty trends to hit the catwalks of New York and Europe then might we suggest a nail polish shade that has interestingly been all the rage--green. Yes, green has occasionally been considered a "dirty" color, but according to Butter London's Creative Director Nonie Creme, "dirty" is the new rage.
The nail trends for Autumn/Winter 2011 are all about reflecting a luxe-grunge persona, and your lacquers should be reminiscent of a dirty, tarnished jewel so to speak. Instead of the bright deep red of a ruby, choose a garnet; or a dirty teal instead of a sapphire.Read More »
Butter LONDON wasn't the only nail lacquer range responsible for bringing model's nails to life at this years New York Fashion Week, we have to give props to Deborah Lippmann as well. So many designers, so little time, I don't know how these brands do it jumping from one show to the next all whilst making sure these models don't smudge their gorgeous polished fingers.
Anyways, the Deborah Lippmann range really brought it up a level with color options of reds, greiges, and deep midnight blues with sparkle accompaniment at shows such as Bill Blass, Badgley Mischka, and Donna Karen to name drop a few. While were on it, I might as well show you all the lacquers used so you can rock your own runway at home, or at least your nails!

I realize there's so much chatter about nail polish these days, and to be honest, I just can't help myself. I promise I'm not a one trick pony and only write about one facet of beauty, we're just on a roll, and right when I tell myself I'm going to blog about fashion, I end up finding these inspirational and "totally have to figure out how do this" nail art. I know you still love me.
I have got the major shakes when I attempt to pain so many of the images below would simply have to be done in the hands of a professional but there are so many products out there now that can make attaining these looks a little easier. Nail strips, or stickers, are hardly what they were ten years ago. Now they're easy to apply and actually look pretty decent. Also, brands like LAQA & Co are really making a difference because they come in the form of a pen, meaning you can paint your nail blue and then take the gold pen and draw stripes or stars over the top!
Okay mani-holics interested in seeing the lastest Deborah Lippmann nail lacquers for Fall 2011? There's some beauties in this collection as well as a fabulous trio set. With no further adieu, here are the latest and greatest shades you need to be rocking on your manicured nails.
I love a great gift set. It takes the guessing out of it, especially if you love bling nails. The "Get This Party Started" trio is all about the nightlife and discoball antics. Comes with CANDY SHOP (bubblegum pink), FORGET YOU (party all night) and top seller HAPPY BIRTHDAY (party in a bottle).

I don't know about you but I have a very difficult time painting my nails, in particularly my achilles heel, the right hand. My left hand, no problem, and looks like a professional manicurist did it. However, once we get to the point of painting my right hand, all of a sudden I get the shakes and it's all over from there. Needless to say I appreciate the little things, like the shape, width size and volume of a nail brush as this helps me keep the polish only going slightly onto the skin and not my entire finger.

Elle.com recently did a post about some of the hot nail trends for the Holiday/Winter 2011 season and some of our favorite nail lacquers made the cut! Stay on trend and be festive and fabulous by rocking some of the shades below.
1. Denim inspired navy tones. They used to be big a couple seasons ago and now they're experiencing a resurrection. Deborah Lippmann's Lady Sings The Blues offers a shimmering navy shade with tiny flecks of glitter. If you want to nix the sparkle and go for a wearable matte navy hue then take a look at Butter London's Royal Navy.
2. Muted Gold. Instead of glistening gold that can be seen from down the street, opt for more muted, brassy tones. Think antique! Deborah Lippmann's Believe is a golden beige shade that's soft hue looks great on everyone. For another great option, you can't go wrong with Butter London's Wallis. This tarnished gold was custom blended by creative director Nonie Creme for the Betsy Johnson runway show so no wonder it was a hit!Read More »
If you love Rachel Zoe and all things "major" then I thought you'd like to know about the latest beauty item she's going bananas for in The Zoe Report, Butter London's Black Knight Nail Lacquer. Part of their Holiday Collection for 2011, this shade is a glitter bomb fusion of black, pink, blue and silver in a black base. Rachel is dying over it at the moment because it's the perfect shade to get you noticed during daytime hours and has the perfect amount of pop to transition into cocktail hour. Rock a metallic eye and The Black Knight on your fingertips for the perfect pizzazz. The ideal stocking stuffer for those you love.Read More »
Ombre, two toned hair is so last summer, going into 2012 it's all about ombre nails. This trend allows you two different options to really make a statement. The first ombre nail look is when the color fades from light to dark on each individual nail. The shades can be from the same color family or totally opposite, the secret is the blend in the middle. The second look is when the color fades from one nail to the next. For this you need five different nail lacquers from the same color family but with different graduated shades from light to dark, you can even throw in a glitter finger for extra show.
Our latest arrival, The New Black, makes creating these looks super easy. Instead of investing your time, energy and money in multiple full size bottles that you're not sure go together you can purchase ready-to-wear ombre nail sets at wallet conscious prices. All of the shades offered are straight of the runways keeping your nails fashion forward at all times. Some of my favorite The New Black ombre nail polish sets are:
Black Ice - Glimmer Twins 2 Piece Set
Black is always cool, especially when you can have sparkly tips. This kit makes it easy to do two graduated shades on each nail.
Horizon - Ombre Nail Polish 5 Piece Set
For the other trend, I think this blue inspired set is gorgeous because of it's greyish-blue gradual transition.
If Splash with Daryll Hannah and Disney's The Little Mermaid gives you happy thoughts then you're going to love Deborah Lippmann's latest nail lacquers from the resort inspired Spring 2012 range. Called Mermaid's Dream, this gorgeous beach inspired varnish consists of blue and green shimmering shades that once applied resemble and feel like shiny mermaid scales. If mermaid's don't float your boat then take it to the boardwalk with Deborah Lippmann's On The Beach. This bright and rich 'Riviera Blue' is vivacious and such a gorgeous shade to rock going into the warmer seasons!

We called it! We wrote about the new Deborah Lippmann Staccato collection back in March, and knew it was going to be making headlines.
Sure enough, in the latest issue of O Magazine, I'm Not Edible received high praise. The gritty take on classic pink polish received a 2013 Spring Makeup O-ward for "artful innovation". We couldn't agree more!
We love how this line contrasts the sweetness of a pastel with a dark, chunky black glitter. These edgy nails are fun for spring and summer, and act as the perfect complement for your bathing suit or LBD.
We are pleased to offer Deborah Lippmann Staccato nail polish in I'm Not Edible on b-glowing.com. Shop the rest of the Deborah Lippmann Staccato line here.

InStyle magazine lists white nails as the summer trend in their June issue for multiple reasons. It's on-trend with the black and white phenomenon we are seeing in fashion this season, white goes with everything as it's the ultimate neutral, and it's edgy, while still maintaining a more friendly look than black.

The New Black 'Solid White' - Part of the new Strip Club Collection, 'Solid White' offers you white polish with a thin brush for precise application. This is a nail art junky must-have. Perfect for an all-over white look, or a decorative pattern.
LVX 'Fantom' - This runway-inspired shade is as white as you can get. Formulated 5-free and cruelty free, 'Fantom' is the ideal shade to get that white wash of "color" this trend calls for.
Deborah Lippmann 'Polka Dots and Moonbeams' - Looking to rock this trend with a twist? 'Polka Dots and Moonbeams' gives you a white base with fun black specs to add a a touch of whimsy to your mani. Part of the Staccato Collection, this polish has already made quite an impression!
For the perfect white mani, make sure to use a base coat, as well as a top coat for a long-wearing look, and to prevent chipping! InStyle magazine suggests taking your prep a step further by applying a matte coat before the final layer of polish and top coat.Read More »

You may have come across terms like 3-Free, 4-Free, or 5-Free in the past when shopping for nail polish. But what does that mean? b-glowing.com is here to give you the 411 on what your lacquer is leaving out!
3-Free: When you see 3-Free on a nail polish, it means it is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), or Formaldehyde.
4-Free: When you see 5-Free on a nail polish, it means it is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, or Camphor.
5-Free: When you see 5-Free on a nail polish, it means it is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or Camphor.
What are these ingredients? Why are they used in the first place?
Toluene: Helps polish go on smoothly. Also found in gasoline, rubber cement, and shoe polish. Inhaling products containing toluene causes light-headedness, nausea and even unconsciousness and sometimes death. It's also linked to developmental damage for pregnant women.
Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP): Prevents your polish from chipping and cracking. Also found in adhesives, printing ink, and plastics. It's been designated a reproductive and developmental toxin.
Formaldehyde: Makes polish tough and resistant. Most commonly found in nail strengtheners, not polish. It's also directly linked to nasal sinus cancer and the development of leukemia.
Formaldehyde Resin: A less toxic version of formaldehyde, this ingredient is still considered a skin allergen that can cause dermatitis.
Camphor: Helps polish adhere to your nails. Also used as a moth repellent, used in the embalming process, and found in fireworks. While it is less hazardous than the "Toxic 3", it does cause skin irritation and is poisonous when ingested in large doses. Nail biters beware!
b-glowing.com is proud to carry a wide range of 3-Free, 4-Free, and 5-Free nail polish brands that we love. You will easily find bright, bold, beautiful colors that are long-lasting and SAFE! Here is a list, start shopping now!

We love all six of these runway-inspired shades because they are unique, and will transition easily from summer to fall. For this fan brush manicure tutorial we chose to highlight a few of our personal favorites: Celeste, Deco, and Mynt. These colors together have a bright, tropical feel that is classic enough to wear out or to the office.
- 3 nail polish colors of your choice (Celeste, Deco, & Mynt shown)
- Fan brush (available at beauty or supply stores)
- Nail lacquer remover
- Palette for mixing polish (nonporous surface you don't mind putting polish on)
1. Always start with clean, buffed, and filed nails. In order to ensure a smooth application, remove excess cuticles and apply your favorite base coat. We used butter LONDON’s Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator and Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat.
2. Next, apply one even coat of Polish #1 (Celeste) to all ten nails. Because you are going to be designing on top of this color with your other two shades, you don’t want too much polish build-up. One coat is sufficient for a mani like this, especially when using opaque colors.
3. Let your nails dry for at least 15 minutes before doing any designing. We let our nails dry for an hour to ensure the first layer was set.
4. Now that your nails are dry, you can start designing with the fan brush tool. Dab out a generous amount of Polish #2 (Deco) and Polish #3 (Mynt) onto your palette. Staff Tip: After a little experimenting we found it was easier to apply one color at a time, but if you feel like mixing, go for it!
5. Make sure your fan brush has enough space between the bristles to create a feathered effect. We suggest getting it wet before using in order to separate the bristles. Carefully dip the center bristles into Polish #2 (Deco), making sure to only pick up polish on the tips of the bristles. Next, gently drag the brush across your nail from one side to the other. We did horizontal lines, but vertical looks great too!
6. Repeat this step with your Polish #3 (Mynt). This is when you will truly see the wispy design begin to appear! Continue dipping and dragging until you achieve your desired design. Staff Tip: It is handy to keep a dish of nail lacquer remover to cleanse the brush of polish before re-dipping to avoid buildup. We used Deborah Lippmann The Stripper Lavender Nail Lacquer Remover.
7. Once all three layers have dried, make sure to finish-off the nails with a glossy top coat. You want all that work to last as long as possible! We used butter LONDON’s Hardware PD Quick Topcoat to prevent chipping and protect our design.
