Super cute new “Societies Of Scent" collection just arrived from Royal Apothic! The sophisticated line of home ambiance we have all grown to adore has also perfected bath, body and perfume!
Eight distinctive fragrances inspired by the social clubs of England's Victorian Age create the perfect scent for daily indulgence. Handcrafted in LA and fit for a queen.
Each hand crafted scent is available in candle, EDP, hand cream and soap.
We especially love the Association of Leisurely Pursuits Perfume with the crisp notes of citrus, bergamot, rose, musk and a hint of Patchouli. Only $27.00! Love it!
It seems like Tom Ford has done it all. You know him as the stylish, former designer for Gucci and recent filmmaker, but Tom Ford has also been involved in fragrance and beauty for quite some time.
We are so excited to be carrying two of his signature fragrances, Black Orchid and White Patchouli.
The exclusive and uber-rare black orchid is the definitive note in this incredibly intoxicating scent. Your senses will then pick up aromas of deep woods, white truffle, and sensual ylang ylang. Not to mention, this fragrance is contained in a beautiful art-deco inspired bottle that will be a focal point on any nightstand.
Out of the woods and into the garden is where you’ll find the aromas contained in White Patchouli. This retro-classic fragrance was named, “Best Spicy Scent,” in Allure magazines Best of Beauty 2010. The signature ingredient is Patchouli Orpur that gives the aroma of freshly pressed patchouli leaves followed by Rose Absolute, Night Blooming Jasmine and Ambrette Seed. Ideal for romance!
Both of these fragrances retail for $95 and their sensual notes and regal packaging are something not be missed.

I first fell in love with the captivating and sensual scents of TOCCA when I was given a candle as a gift many years ago. Now these exquisite scents can be yours in the form of eau de parfum, solid parfum and lip glosses.
There’s something beautifully old-world about these fragrances that can inspire a lost memory of a forbidden romance, a walk down the Seine, or a flower you received by a loved one. The bottle as well speaks of romance and a bygone era where luxury and sensuality could be found around every corner.
Here is a tease of these boudoir-esque captivating scents.Read More »
We're so picky about what scents we carry at b-glowing because perfume is so particular and differs vastly by individual taste. It's hard to please everyone so we try to carry fragrances that withstand stand the test of time, that's notes remain classic, sexy and always intriguing. I found this quote by fragrance expert Michael Edwards which is spot on when talking about the relationship women have with perfume...
"When women are asked why they no longer buy a certain fragrance, more often than not they answer,'because no-one seemed to notice that I was wearing it.' Fragrance is a silent conversation. Would you keep talking, if no-one replied?"Read More »
For those of you who haven't heard of this brand, Juliette Has a Gun is an independednt perfume brand out of France that brings rock 'n roll and the art of seduction into a series of cult crazy fragrances. What makes this brand so special is that it can be quite hard to find as it's only sold is specialty concept stores and specialized perfumeries. So, we are very pleased to have this line of intoxicating scents available to US customers. All of them are based on the rose. Fragile but thorny, the rose can be equally beautiful and equally dangerous.
What really draws people's attention is definitely the brand name...the whole "gun" thing. No, she's not out to put a bullet into you but she is out to seduce and draw you in which the gun is the perfect metaphor for a perfume as THE weapon of seduction. One of the most popular scents is Juliette Has A Gun's Lady Vengeance which carries with it the nuance of undeniable femininity, confidence and divine sensuality. The very elegant but thorny Bulgarian rose marries patchouli and vanilla to draw this fine elegance, both contemporary and inevitable. Another is Vengeance Extreme, a chypre fragrance which draws its intensity from an unusual dosage of Patchouli, Bulgarian Rose, and Vanilla. A trail suggesting an evident sensuality, with a zest of provocation. Not to be left in innocent hands...Read More »
Coming from the land down under is our latest fragrance addition, Mor Cosmetic's Marshmallow Eau de Parfum. This softly sweet perfume consists of Vanilla Musk, Jasmine Flower, sugar dipped rose petals and a base note of Cotton Candy. This is one of those scents that is very wearable for a daily fragrance and easily brings back memories of childhood and the sweet tooth we carry through into adulthood.

The flower for the month of May is the iconic lily of the valley, whose flowers look like little white bells. Becker Eshaya fragrances capture the lily of the valley’s scent and pair it with notes of rose Damascena, Italian mandarin and pink peony. There’s no better way to welcome the spring season.
Also called “Our Lady’s (or Mary’s) tears,” “May lily,” “May bells” or the “ladder to heaven,” the lily of the valley has a rich mythology and symbolism. The Bible refers to the flower as a symbol of Christ’s second coming. Legends also state that the lilies sprang up from the ground when the Virgin Mary wept during Jesus’ crucifixion. In religious paintings, the flower is often a symbol of humility.Read More »
Bvlgari is known for it's elegant, beautiful and expensive jewelry line. For those of us who can't afford the bling, you can still enjoy the feeling of high end luxury through their stunning fragrance line. Best of all, this luxury is totally affordable!
One of my personal favorites is Bvlgari's Mon Jasmin Noir. Otherwise known as seduction in a bottle, this refined fragrance has notes of angel wing jasmine, vibrant wood and musky nougatine. As the sun goes down slip into a slinky cocktail dress and splash on the woody evening sister fragrance Jasmin Noir. With summer right around the corner Bvlgari's Omnia Coral captures the floral fruity tone of the tropics and far off oceans. Also inspired by the shimmering hues of red coral both in the gorgeous bottle and notes of pomegranate and goji berries. Awaken your senses with one spritz and you'll be hooked forever...Read More »
Perfume has the power to transport us in one spritz to a distant memory we thought was forgotten, places we once traveled, and even a person. How many times do we smell something and all of a sudden it can remind us of our grandma who used to wear that fragrance or a friend? Perfume can help trigger things we thought were lost and also carries with it the power of attraction. Cartier perfumes, just like their jewelry are the master craftsmen when it comes to creating unforgettable fragrances that elicit intense emotion.
Cartier's Delices de Cartier takes you on a sensual journey that is impossible to resist. It's Morello cherry accord lingers on the skin while vanilla and tonka bean work in harmony to bring a salty warmth, like sun-kissed skin. If you love a fragrance that's a melting pot combination of fruity, sweet, acidic, melting and spicy then this cherry inspired perfume will quickly become your latest obsession, and others as soon as they smell it on you.

If there's one brand whose signature pattern can immediately spark a fashion reference it's Burberry. Their distinctive tartan pattern is synonymous with this British luxury fashion house, and it not only graces the handbags but also many of their fragrances. Just like their classic trench coats, Burberry perfumes are a prestigious extension of their lifestyle and accessory collections.
One of the most popular scents is Burberry's Brit. Enclosed in a glass bottle with signature tartan design, it's a delicate and fresh scent of crisp green almond, icy pear and italian lime. Although crisp, it also has a bit of warmth due to hints of amber and mahogany. The ideal scent for fall, pair this with a trenchcoat (any will do) and you're styling for the season.
Burberry's Body is a 'full bodied' and eclectic combination of creamy vanilla, warm sandalwood, and illuminating peach notes that make a woman feel effortlessly sensual and feminine. Wear this scent when you want that little extra sex appeal. Confidence in a bottle and also one of my personal favorites!

Women have been wearing perfume for years but do we really have it all figured out? Navigating through perfume sections online or in a department store can sometimes be overwhelming, not to mention trying to find your 'signature' scent.
In fact, perfume selection can be a very personal decision as scent is strongly linked to emotions and has a huge impact on the way people perceive you. What smells beautiful on a friend might smell totally different on your skin and this is where a little insight can really benefit us. After all, instructions for use don't come in the box so we gathered our most hard hitting questions and put them to the test with perfumer and scent expert YOSH...
Is it important to change or mix-up your perfumes with the changing of the seasons?
Yes, changing your perfumes with each season is like changing your fashion wardrobe. Each season represents a different sentiment or mood. Our body chemistry changes with the temperatures - partly because of the actual weather but also because of the seasonal foods you eat. And if you're newly in love - that will certainly change your body chemistry!
As we're entering spring, the season of changing leaves and re-introduction of color, what kind of scents should we be wearing?
As we come out of hibernation, the spring is full of hope and promise. It's still fresh some days and getting warmer other days. Just as you would wear a light sweater over your blouse or dress, wearing something sheer is great for this time of year. Something light but with some depth. Floral musk for this time of year is especially nice if you're on the East Coast and still need to wear a coat. Crisp florals are like crisp air in your nose - it wakes you up but it also gets the sluggish energy out. Sometimes, it's hard to motivate, we want the winter to last and we want to stay in bed. That's ok too - letting the body naturally come out of hibernation. But for days that need motivation, a little greenness will motivate you. Like wearing a pop of color.
What fragrance suggestions from our category would you find befitting of a great scent to compliment the Spring season?
Sottile in my own collection is made for spring with Tea Rose and Lily of the Valley. Sottile means subtle in Italian. It's clear and pretty like a spring day. There's a natural beauty to it - like a day after it rains. The air smells fresh with hints of hopeful silence. White Flowers is also great for this time of year. It's a more complex fragrance for the woman who likes tailored clothing. It has more layers and more bling. It's white flowers with a green finish and has a freshness to it like freshly picked wildflowers or the smell of flowers just coming out of the earth. Some other gorgeous spring options are:Read More »
I'm madly, desperately, unequivocally in love with Tocca's latest fragrance, Violette Eau de Parfum. Although I haven't had the privilege of going to Paris yet, I imagine this perfume sums up springtime in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Although I'm on the fence when it comes to 'florals,' this uber-picky girl couldn't help but fall in love with the soft notes of Italian Bergamot, African Violet and Creamy Cedarwood. Tocca's Violette evokes the whirlwind romance between a young soldier on leave and a young girl at the fragrance counter of Le Bon Marche in 1940's Paris. Ohhhhh, so frenchy so chic!

Shop the full Serge Normant haircare collection here!
Serge Normant has created a product I've been dreaming about. How many times do we not have time to wash our hair but it's kinda smelly so we douse it with a few sprays of perfume? Heck, I'm guilty of that on a few occasions but I've always wished there was some type of deodorant for hair that would cover that tell tale 'I've been to a barbecue' smoky aroma that lasts forever. Serge Normant has come out with Avah Eau de Parfum, a sensual and exotic perfume that can be used freely all over, including your hair!
Avah is a beautiful floral musk with exquisite notes of ylang yang, jasmine, amber and soft woods to create a sensual aromatic experience. Featured in Oprah magazine, this product is perfect when you need a breath of fresh hair. What's also unique to the product is it's nourishing properties of jojoba, aloe vera and vitamin E. Now there's no reason to let bar smells and barbecues force you to wash your hair, just use Avah! This is definitely something I'm getting on my next b-glowing shopping trip.
Shop the full Etat Libre d'Orange fragrance collection here!
Can you imagine if a group of the most talented 'noses' in the fragrance industry got together and created scents without the shackles of brand approval or conforming to the demands of the marketplace? Just pure genius aromatic minds breaking the boundaries of traditional restrictions of the perfume industry and creating amazing scents based on their own personal fantasies. From this mentality our latest fragrance brand Etat Libre d'Orange was born.
At Etat Libre d'Orange, which translates to 'orange free state,' talented perfumers are liberated to have complete freedom to develop original, erotic and provocative scents fueled by the sensual way our bodies express themselves. In other words, this is one sexy perfume line. Now that our heart rate is speeding up, let's take a look at some of their most popular aromas:
Etat Libre d'Orange Secretions Magnifique is a male cologne that captures the essence of sex in a fragrance. Your intimate desires, wants and needs are bottled up and wanting to be let out. Sometimes we don't want to admit to our desires, we hide our cravings and only when we're ready and feel safe do we release them. The same goes with this fragrance with notes of coconut, orris and sandalwood. If you're tempted enough to give in to this fragrance you need to totally surrender to it's powers.
Etat Libre d'Orange Like This is a fragrance about home, trust and the simplicity of inhaling the aromas of the one you love. If you're far from home and lost, this scent will bring you back with its notes of tangerine, moroccan neroli and vetiver.
Etat Libre d'Orange Rien should be thought of like a second skin for men. It clings to the body and has a masculine/feminine elegance that leaves an unforgettable imprint. Black currant bays and musky notes of blonde suede makes the wearer totally irresistible. You want this addiction.
Think of Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland like fresh and pure water. It feels clean and is an ode to the beauty of the male body and the radiance of the natural self. This scent is for a man who loves to play and to love with notes of lemon, tonka bean and vanilla.
Etat Libre d'Orange Bendelirious is for the girl who catches your eye at a party. She's the girl everyone wants to be and can't stop staring at but you leave without speaking to her. She evokes elegance and grace and also has a bewitching way of capturing the hearts of everyone she comes in contact with. Like the girl, Bendelirious is totally enchanting with notes of grapefruit essence, cherry lollipop accord and vetiver.

For better or worse, the summer heat amps up your fragrance. Make the warm rays work for you by choosing a scent that’s sure to turn heads for the right reasons. With the affordable luxuries that come in a bottle of MOR perfume, you can’t go wrong on even the hottest days.
Floral and fruity scents: If you love crisp, clean scents, opt for a fragrance that incorporates citrus notes like grapefruit, mandarin or lemon. Because the strongest elements of citrus evaporate after a short while, look for a perfume that backs up the tangy notes with something floral, such as jasmine, lily of the valley or rose. Try the MOR fragrance Little Luxuries Belladonna Perfume Oil, which pairs Meyer lemons with tulips, white narcissus and Moroccan Rose. As with all perfume oils, remember that a little goes a long way.
Dark, exotic scents: If fruity scents aren’t for you, go for a variation on the traditional oceanic notes that are popular during the summer. Think woody and spicy, like sandalwood blended with berries. The perfect exotic MOR perfume oil is Little Luxuries Snow Gardenia. Offering a summer botanical garden in a vial, this perfume blends gardenia, juniper berries and Angelica with vanilla, sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.

Perfumer Yosh joins us again for another round of Scents & Sensibility! Spring has passed and now summer is truly in bloom. The earthy aromas of the season are in full swing like jasmine that seems it's most intoxicating at sunset, freshly mowed green grass, sweet honeysuckle and a day at the beach (cotton candy, coconut cocktails, sunscreen) and all! Yosh answers a few of our seasonal questions and recommends some great summer scents for our 2012 Summer Fragrance Flight, a sampler set of 5 fragrances for $15 that will leave you smelling great as the temperature rises. It also includes a special 20% discount code** that can be used just in case you find your new signature!
Our body chemistry (as well as the Earth's) changes during the summer. It's warmer out so we change our activities accordingly. When it's hot and humid, light and fresh fragrances tend to be more suitable for the season. Fruity florals or citrus aromatics are refreshing and carefree.
How do we choose the perfect summer fragrance?
This depends on your activity but for the office, something watery and subtle would be appropriate but weekends and going out at night, something sparkly and juicy would be more fun.
I've heard that eau de toilette can be a better choice than an eau de parfum because they're lighter based. However, the lighter they are I find the more times I have to apply. What's the solution?
There's a misconception that fragrances should last all day but I prefer to carry a purse spray to spritz throughout the day. It's like asking the sunlight to stay the same from morning through the day. Nobody is that robotic. Clothing gets wrinkled and worn as you sit and walk around. Refresh your fragrance when you powder your nose and add fresh coat of lipstick.
Eau de toilette EDT and eau de parfum EDP refer to the strength of perfume concentrate and alcohol. There's more alcohol and less concentrate in EDT so the dilution gives the wearer a lighter impression. I think this is a great solution if a person tends towards the heavier florientals or gourmands normally. Then you can still enjoy this genre of fragrance in the summer rather than trying to wear a different style of perfume. But if you like cologne style aromatics or citrus fragrances, then EDP is fine even in the summer. If you like floral musks or powdery fragrances, then choose the less intense EDT otherwise, it can be cloying in humid weather. If it's a dry climate with coastal breeze (west coast) then EDP is fine.
What are some of our summer inspired fragrances that have caught your eye this season?
In my own collection, I was surprised to find that I fell in love with U4EAHH. Even though it's a global best seller, it was one of my creations that I never wore because it is usually turns sour on me. But I've been in Tokyo for the last few weeks and the climate here is quite humid and the fragrance smells amazing on me. The new Rodin olio lusso Perfume also sounds amazing to me with neroli and jasmine.

If the idea of being away from your smart phone sends you into a state of shock or you simply love technology then I bet you'd also happen to fall in love with a fragrance that is inspired by the gadget that takes over a big part of our lives, the iPhone. Jacomo's It's Me For Her looks so much like your it you could end up grabbing it off the kitchen counter before you leave for work rather than your acutal phone! Now don't get me wrong, the packaging is very, very modern and cool but the bonus part of course is the amazing scent! Spazmag.com thought it was such a cool concept they had to blog about it and gave it two thumbs up. It comes in both a his/hers fragrance option with the woman's being warm and sensual with notes of pineapple, mandarin and jasmine and the men's vivacious and woody with lemon, patchouli and amber aromas. Both are incredibly classy scents and the bottle alone makes for a wonderful gift!

What should you consider before you begin looking for a new fall/winter perfume, to make sure you pick the one that's right for you?
Normally, I would say that one might consider their climate first. I live in a place where winter is very mild so I prefer to wear a yummy fragrance with a little bit of smokiness but if you live in a climate where you have to wear a proper coat, gloves, scarves, then something more enveloping and warming might be better. This year, I'm going to pick my fall / winter fragrance based more on the kind of statement I'd like to project. I feel rather embolden now because I've lost a bit of weight and my hairdresser and I have come to agree on my look - more rock star glam. So for me, personally, I'm going to wear a fragrance that reflects an edgy opulence.
What aromas will be on trend this fall/winter?
Oud will continue to trend but creamy woody notes will make us feel grounded yet luxurious. Energetically, when people feel unstable, people choose more comfort fragrances. During the holidays, people tend to be a little emotional so something that makes us feel taken care of is how we want to smell. Vanilla will always be a great fall/winter choice for people. But I think people will want a little naughty vanilla - something with leather and spice.
Does the cold weather affect the way we wear our fragrance?
Absolutely ! Some people live in a climate zone that's mild in the winter. They might not need to wear something as heavy and spicy as a person living in very cold temperatures who might want something to feel like a warm cashmere wrap. In the winter, boozy fragrances make us feel warm inside too.
I recently heard that the perfume wearing tradition of rubbing your wrists together after application can destroy the scents quality. As a chronic wrist rubber I have to hear straight from the perfumer's mouth if this is true?
I think people in the industry are divided on this one. I personally like to rub the wrists together to release the scent - like rubbing petals or leaves together.
Can selecting the wrong perfume age you?
Gosh - great question. I think perfumes can age you in both directions. Just like tight jeans and short skirts. Some fragrances tend to be more youthful whereas some fragrances are more mature. I find young teens wearing heavy perfumes trying to be more sophisticated and some cougars wearing shocking or to fruity scents because they don't care what is age appropriate.
