The world is in a frenzy about the Royal wedding and I admit I was a little misty-eyed when I watched the couple take their second kiss on the balcony. A princess is born!
Not everyone can get the Royal treatment that Kate did but you can celebrate in style with these Royal-inspired butter LONDON nail colors:

A lot of well deserved hype has been given to Becca’s latest Halcyon Days Collection. Tantalizing bronze, to warm corals, and blushing pinks, this collection really epitomizes the summer beauty trend for 2011.
Becca’s Dancing Barefoot is one of the most popular nail lacquers in the collection so I wanted to give an extra bit of attention towards this fantastic trio of summer shades from this collection.

Nail polish is the new lipstick. I used to constantly read the beauty sections and checkout all the new makeup trends, which usually centered around the best lipsticks or glosses for the season, whether it be deep red, plum, or coral. But now when I check out the beauty sections there seems to be a much bigger emphasis on the latest nail trends.
My nail polish collection has all of a sudden outnumbered my lipsticks which has never happened before. If you think about it, nail polish is just as much of an accessory as a great pair of sunglasses or fabulous pumps. Instead of wearing a neutral polish for two weeks that will go with many outfits, I find myself changing my polish multiple times a week depending on what I'm wearing.
In saying that, never before has it been as safe to wear nail polish. More and more brands are coming out such as Deborah Lippmann that have 3-Free Formulations, meaning that they are free of unsafe chemicals such as Formaldehyde, Toulene, and DBP. Without sacrificing quality or color, these nail brands are paving the way in the nail lacquer realm.Read More »
If you like to follow the latest fashion and beauty trends to hit the catwalks of New York and Europe then might we suggest a nail polish shade that has interestingly been all the rage--green. Yes, green has occasionally been considered a "dirty" color, but according to Butter London's Creative Director Nonie Creme, "dirty" is the new rage.
The nail trends for Autumn/Winter 2011 are all about reflecting a luxe-grunge persona, and your lacquers should be reminiscent of a dirty, tarnished jewel so to speak. Instead of the bright deep red of a ruby, choose a garnet; or a dirty teal instead of a sapphire.Read More »
Butter LONDON wasn't the only nail lacquer range responsible for bringing model's nails to life at this years New York Fashion Week, we have to give props to Deborah Lippmann as well. So many designers, so little time, I don't know how these brands do it jumping from one show to the next all whilst making sure these models don't smudge their gorgeous polished fingers.
Anyways, the Deborah Lippmann range really brought it up a level with color options of reds, greiges, and deep midnight blues with sparkle accompaniment at shows such as Bill Blass, Badgley Mischka, and Donna Karen to name drop a few. While were on it, I might as well show you all the lacquers used so you can rock your own runway at home, or at least your nails!

I realize there's so much chatter about nail polish these days, and to be honest, I just can't help myself. I promise I'm not a one trick pony and only write about one facet of beauty, we're just on a roll, and right when I tell myself I'm going to blog about fashion, I end up finding these inspirational and "totally have to figure out how do this" nail art. I know you still love me.
I have got the major shakes when I attempt to pain so many of the images below would simply have to be done in the hands of a professional but there are so many products out there now that can make attaining these looks a little easier. Nail strips, or stickers, are hardly what they were ten years ago. Now they're easy to apply and actually look pretty decent. Also, brands like LAQA & Co are really making a difference because they come in the form of a pen, meaning you can paint your nail blue and then take the gold pen and draw stripes or stars over the top!
Okay mani-holics interested in seeing the lastest Deborah Lippmann nail lacquers for Fall 2011? There's some beauties in this collection as well as a fabulous trio set. With no further adieu, here are the latest and greatest shades you need to be rocking on your manicured nails.
I love a great gift set. It takes the guessing out of it, especially if you love bling nails. The "Get This Party Started" trio is all about the nightlife and discoball antics. Comes with CANDY SHOP (bubblegum pink), FORGET YOU (party all night) and top seller HAPPY BIRTHDAY (party in a bottle).

I don't know about you but I have a very difficult time painting my nails, in particularly my achilles heel, the right hand. My left hand, no problem, and looks like a professional manicurist did it. However, once we get to the point of painting my right hand, all of a sudden I get the shakes and it's all over from there. Needless to say I appreciate the little things, like the shape, width size and volume of a nail brush as this helps me keep the polish only going slightly onto the skin and not my entire finger.

Elle.com recently did a post about some of the hot nail trends for the Holiday/Winter 2011 season and some of our favorite nail lacquers made the cut! Stay on trend and be festive and fabulous by rocking some of the shades below.
1. Denim inspired navy tones. They used to be big a couple seasons ago and now they're experiencing a resurrection. Deborah Lippmann's Lady Sings The Blues offers a shimmering navy shade with tiny flecks of glitter. If you want to nix the sparkle and go for a wearable matte navy hue then take a look at Butter London's Royal Navy.
2. Muted Gold. Instead of glistening gold that can be seen from down the street, opt for more muted, brassy tones. Think antique! Deborah Lippmann's Believe is a golden beige shade that's soft hue looks great on everyone. For another great option, you can't go wrong with Butter London's Wallis. This tarnished gold was custom blended by creative director Nonie Creme for the Betsy Johnson runway show so no wonder it was a hit!Read More »
One of the most common ways to remove nail polish is with acetone, a super-strong solvent. The long-term effects of this chemical aren’t clear, but the dangers associated with its use are.
To avoid potential health problems associated with acetone, many nail enthusiasts are choosing acetone-free products, such as butter LONDON nail polish remover. butter LONDON is committed to keeping its fashion-forward customers healthy and beautiful by offering better-for-you solutions.
The effects of acetone-based nail polish removers are greater in children, especially if a curious tyke ingests the slightest bit. Keep all your chemicals in a safe place.Read More »

We called it! We wrote about the new Deborah Lippmann Staccato collection back in March, and knew it was going to be making headlines.
Sure enough, in the latest issue of O Magazine, I'm Not Edible received high praise. The gritty take on classic pink polish received a 2013 Spring Makeup O-ward for "artful innovation". We couldn't agree more!
We love how this line contrasts the sweetness of a pastel with a dark, chunky black glitter. These edgy nails are fun for spring and summer, and act as the perfect complement for your bathing suit or LBD.

InStyle magazine lists white nails as the summer trend in their June issue for multiple reasons. You may have come across terms like 3-Free, 4-Free, or 5-Free in the past when shopping for nail polish. But what does that mean? b-glowing.com is here to give you the 411 on what your lacquer is leaving out!
3-Free: When you see 3-Free on a nail polish, it means it is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), or Formaldehyde.
4-Free: When you see 5-Free on a nail polish, it means it is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, or Camphor.
5-Free: When you see 5-Free on a nail polish, it means it is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or Camphor.
What are these ingredients? Why are they used in the first place?
Toluene: Helps polish go on smoothly. Also found in gasoline, rubber cement, and shoe polish. Inhaling products containing toluene causes light-headedness, nausea and even unconsciousness and sometimes death. It's also linked to developmental damage for pregnant women.
Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP): Prevents your polish from chipping and cracking. Also found in adhesives, printing ink, and plastics. It's been designated a reproductive and developmental toxin.
Formaldehyde: Makes polish tough and resistant. Most commonly found in nail strengtheners, not polish. It's also directly linked to nasal sinus cancer and the development of leukemia.
Formaldehyde Resin: A less toxic version of formaldehyde, this ingredient is still considered a skin allergen that can cause dermatitis.
Camphor: Helps polish adhere to your nails. Also used as a moth repellent, used in the embalming process, and found in fireworks. While it is less hazardous than the "Toxic 3", it does cause skin irritation and is poisonous when ingested in large doses. Nail biters beware!
b-glowing.com is proud to carry a wide range of 3-Free, 4-Free, and 5-Free nail polish brands that we love. You will easily find bright, bold, beautiful colors that are long-lasting and SAFE! Here is a list, start shopping now!

Why We're Pushing These Pads:

One pad takes care of all 10 nails, and leaves them looking shiny too. One quick tip: Make sure to wash your hands between using these pads and applying new nail lacquer, the oil-based formula can make polish application difficult if left on the nail." - b-glowing.com Social Media Administrator, HollyRead More »

As per usual, Zooey Deschanel had some of the best nails on the red carpet at this year’s Golden Globes, which gave us some serious nail inspiration. We loved the femininity and simplicity of her nails, plus the added glamour of the gold, so our resident nail artist got to work on a Zooey D-style mani.
Step 1: Apply Your Base
Always start with clean, buffed nails, and apply a base coat for mani longevity, and to protect your nails. We used a sheer beige/pink base to keep the nail look natural and clean. For this we used Tenoverten’s Houston. Two coats will do just fine, and don’t worry about slight transparency.
Step 2: Dots
Once the base color dried for about 5 minutes, we added our gold dots for the centers of the daisies. The tip of the polish brush is quite perfect for making the small, slightly raised dots. Just a few dabs on the nail with the brush will give the desired effect. Make sure to spread them out so you have room to paint the petals of the daisies.
For this we used Lushington, new from butter LONDON’s Boho Rock Collection. Zooey’s manicure has bigger and fewer daises, but we opted for a smaller flower. The choice is yours! These will take longer to completely dry, but after a few minutes you can move on to your next step.
Step 3: Petals
To create the petals we used a small pointed nail brush. For those of you without these tools around, a steady hand and the tip of a bobby pin will work, too. We chose a light blue, instead of white, just to add a pop of color; we used Blue Orchid from Deborah Lippmann’s spring 2014 line.
The easiest way to dip your brush into the polish is to pour a small amount onto a dish. Starting from the gold dot, lightly drag the brush with your petal polish outward. Try to keep them the same length, and don’t crowd too many petals on one dot. Your brush will start to accumulate polish, so be sure to wipe the brush periodically.
Step 4: Gloss
Give your mani sufficient time to dry before applying your top coat—a good 15 minutes, just to be safe. Once dry, apply a top coat of your choice to seal the look and create a high shine. Now you, too, have sweet and sophisticated red carpet nails!
We want to see your red carpet looks! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook and tag #awardshowglow on your hair, nail, and makeup pics.Read More »
Here at b-glowing we are total advocates for at-home manicures, but making sure your hard work lasts begins with your nail health.
1. Your Nail Bed
This is the canvas for your polish and lacquer, so it is important that it is smooth and strong. We love these Give Me Strength Supplements from Bliss because they help maintain your nail and hair integrity… and they taste amazing! These are especially important to use if you are a nail biter or are experiencing nail damage from previous nail enhancements. We also recommend a topical nail strengthener like butter LONDON’s Horse Power. Not only will this give you added shine between manicures, but your nails will be extra durable.
You’ve heard time and time again how important well-managed cuticles are. Managed cuticles not only boost the lifetime of your manicure, but taking care keeps your fingers feeling and looking better without cracked cuticles. Pushing your cuticles down allows a cleaner surface for your polish because when you paint on top of your cuticles, the polish will lift and pull away from your nail bed. You don’t want that! Also, cuticles that are left to overgrow can become irritated and cracked by weather conditions, and get snagged on a sweater or your hair. Ouch! We suggest using a gentle and effective cuticle remover like this one from Deborah Lippman. Don’t forget to keep a good cuticle oil on hand to make sure they stay moisturized. We like Butter LONDON’s Handbag Holiday.
3. Your Hands
The skin around your nails, your perionychium to be exact, needs just as much care as the rest of your nail. Think of it as the frame to your manicure. Plus, keeping this area moisturized prevents painful hangnails and cracks in the skin. It’s always a good idea to have a rich hand moisturizer around or in your purse for when your hands are feeling dry, and we like Goldfadden MD’s Hands To Heart - Anti-Aging + Brightening Hand Treatment because it keeps your hands healthy and has anti-aging qualities. Just remember to remove any lotion/oils from nails prior to lacquer application, as the oils can prevent your polish from adhering.
