Spring has arrived! Whether you are looking for a new makeup look or craving a hairstyle change, we have the scoop on what's hot this season. Check out our top four beauty trends for spring 2013.
Sleek Hair - Take a break from the teasing comb and try a sleeker style. Models on the runway have been sporting less volume in both up and down 'do's. The key to this look is shiny simplicity that is frizz-free. Use Klorane's Leave-In with Papyrus Milk to calm fly aways without weighing the hair down. Tame tresses into a sophisticated ponytail, or leave locks loose - applying to the top layer from the crown down.
Bold Lips - Be brave and be bold. This spring, select a spicy shade to slather on your smoocher. If you tend to shy away from the more brilliant colors, tone down your look by keeping the eyes neutral. If you are ready to embrace the drama, pair your militant mouth with classic cat-eye liner. Ready to pump up the power to your pucker? Try new BECCA Ultimate Matte Lip Colour in Aurora - a gorgeous coral red shade. Or give yourself over to the dark side with Kevyn Aucoin's The Expert Lip Color in Bloodroses - a deep blood red.
Last night's punk-themed Met Ball is the talk of the town today. Rocking everything from fishnets and spikes, to studs and leather, Hollywood's A-list took punk to the next level in a variety of interpretations.
One of the top head-turning looks was, hands down, Sarah Jessica Parker. Dawning a gorgeous floral ballgown from designer Giles Deacon, Parker's dress split down the center to reveal over-the-knee plaid tartan boots. The pièce de résistance? Her hair! Styled by b-glowing.com brand Serge Normant, and topped with a mohawk headpiece from Philip Treacy, SJP was embracing the theme from head to toe.
How did Serge Normant rock-out the diva's 'do? With his own products of course!
The acclaimed hair stylist began with Meta Silk Shampoo and Meta Velour Conditioner to create a bouncy, shiny canvas. Following with Meta Lush Volumizer for flexibility, Serge reached for his Meta Sheer Finishing Oil to establish invisible hold and weightless volume. Finally, after creating the complex updo of braids and twists, Normant finished the look with Meta Luxe Hairspray to ensure hold for the big event.

We’re so excited to add Sarah Potempa to our b-glowing brands, and we love hair made easy even more!
This celebrity hair stylist is the creator of amazing hair tools that make morning routines much more bearable. The cordless, rechargeable Jet-Setter styling iron is perfect for the gal on the go, while the Wrap Up is all about achieving stylish up-dos without the work.
The innovative Beachwaver (2013 Allure’s Best of Beauty Winner) curling iron rotates in both directions, and we recently took advantage of this innovation at a b-glowing photo shoot.
While getting hair photo-ready, our b-glowing stylist loved this curling iron to achieve quick, beautiful hair.
“Having the motor in this curling iron makes it so much more efficient than a standard curling iron. You wouldn’t think much of this at first, but it saves your arms so much strain from having to roll the curling iron on every section of hair.
“I loved using it on the photo shoot because I was doing so many heads of hair that it made things go much faster than if I was using a regular clamp curling iron. I definitely recommend it for home use as well for the girl who likes to speed up her routine any way she can. Lastly, it produced wonderful uniform waves and curls!”Read More »
Looking for Oscar-worthy locks? Now you can recreate Lisa's 1940's-inspired classic Hollywood hair at home, using this step-by-step tutorial direct from T3 stylist, Linda Zirkus!
After shampooing with Sachajuan's Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, I sprayed Lisa's clean, damp hair with Sachajuan's Ocean Mist. This product is great for adding volume and texture, and creating long-lasting curls.
Next I used the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i and Vent Brush to dry her hair. I love the the Featherweight Luxe 2i because it dries hair fast and healthy, while reducing frizz and creating lots of volume and body.
After parting Lisa's hair into four sections, I sprayed it with Sachajuan's Volume Powder to give the curls I would be creating something to hold on to, and add even more volume.
Using the T3 SinglePass Whirl Wand around her face, I created soft, natural-looking, S-shaped curls, setting them with Sachajuan Medium Hair Spray. Next, I used the T3 SinglePass Twirl 1.25" Curling Iron to twist the pieces in the back, creating more traditional red carpet curls. To ensure the look would last all night, I pinned the curls to her head to set them, and sprayed her entire head with Medium Hair Spray again as the curls cooled.
After Lisa got dressed in her beautiful, deep orchid gown, I let down the curls, and gently brushed them out. Then more hair spray!
To create shine and luster, I finished the ends of the hair with Sachjuan's Intensive Hair Oil and gently swept the hair to one side. Securing the hair with pins, we topped-off the look with a beautiful gold hair comb, complementing Lisa's other accessories.
Finally, I sprayed the entire 'do with the Sachajuan Strong Hair Spray and added a few curl clips to hold the S-shaped pieces around the face in place until Lisa was ready to leave for the event.

Sleek hair is all the rage this season, and from what we saw at Fashion Week for fall/winter, this trend is not going away. One of our favorite sleek looks, that has withstood the test of time, is a pony tail.
We love a pretty pony because it's work-appropriate, great for all textures - including fine hair - and a great way to get a second day out of your already-styled hair. Ready to rock this runway-ready revolution? Here are step-by-step instructions for this easy up-do, and the products that will get you there.
1. Prep Your Mane
You perfected your hair for work yesterday, but 24 hours later it's looking a little … sad. Use Mason Pearson's Handy Mixture Bristle & Nylon Brush to detangle and soften your locks, in preparation for your pony.
2. Tame Your Tail
Run T3's Single Pass 1" Flat Iron over your ends and address any noticeable kinks in your 'do. Don't spend too much time on this step, as the majority of your locks will be gathered and unseen. One minute tops!
3. Smooth Your Strands
Add a couple drops of . Philip B.'s Anti-Frizz Formula 57 w/ Natural Lavender & Jojoba Extract this will keep frizz at bay and help you maintain your hairs health while it holds the style.

4. Flipping Out
Flip hair upside down, brushing repeatedly from root to tip toward the floor. Make a fist, and place it against the top of your head, this is where your pony will 'sprout' from.
5. Gather the Herd
Open your fist and begin brushing your hair into it, collecting it for the hair tie. Depending on hair length, you may have to move your fist towards the nape of your neck, in order to collect all your stands in the tie.
6. Rein It In
Using the hair tie of your choice, secure your now-collected hair. You may choose to leave the tie as-is, or you can create a more polished look by wrapping a thin segment of hair from your tail around the tie and securing it with a bobby pin towards the underside of your ponytail.
7. Polish the Pony
Now that your pony is in place, you'll want to tame baby hairs and frizz. Use Pop & Lock Crystallite Shellac by Color WOW along the hairline and sides to perfect your sleek look, enhance shine and tame fly-aways.
8. Solidify Your Style
Finish off this look with a pass of your favorite hairspray. We recommend Serge Normant Meta Luxe Hairspray to ensure hold and protect hair against damaging and dulling UV rays.
We hope you enjoy this styling 'how-to' from b-glowing.com!
