Our product ranges are always getting shown some major love by the biggest beauty editors in the magazine industry so we weren't the least bit surprised when Jemma Kidd Makeup School's Hi-Shine Hydrating Gloss Stick SPF 15 in Sugar Cane was featured in the August issue of Marie Claire.
In the section, "Best Makeup For Your Hair Color," the Hi-Shine Hydrating Gloss Stick SPF 15 in Sugar Cane was featured as a great lip shade option for those with blonde hair. Occasionally blondes tend to be fairer skinned than brunettes so they suggest for them to stick to peachy shades on lips and cheeks which won't clash with a ruddy complexion.

b-glowing is so excited to be working with Jemma Kidd Makeup School to support a very special cause. In Ethiopia, many people are suffering from blindness, because of an infectious disease called trachoma. It is a highly contagious eye disease that is spread by flies, poor sanitation and human contact. It is 100% preventable and that's why Jemma Kidd started her Visionfund, so adults and children in poor communities can fight the tragedy of unnecessary blindness.

I'm crazy for beauty products that illuminate the skin and make you appear like you're exuding radiance from the inside out. It's hard to find the right products that don't make your face look like a disco ball and that have very subtle shimmer. As we get older, sparkly products have a tendency to make us look older so it's important to choose the right products that are finely milled and very subtle. Creamy based products can also slide into our fine lines and get trapped there, which only draws more attention to them. As a 31 year old who's still obsessed with glitter and shimmer, these are the ones I've found that will make you look youthful and radiant.Read More »

2. Metal Moments - Use Jemma Kidd's Grey Eye Wardrobe and Stay Put Liner in Gunmetal for smoking out the lid. Smokey eyes really give off a "come hither"
look and creates a very sexy and dramatic eye. Don't forget to smoke and blend out the under eye are as well.

eye area is always a dead giveway when it comes to a lacklustre face. However, tired eyes can appear rested very quickly by using a nude liner such as Jemma
Kidd's I-Perfector to line the inside of the upper and lower eye. This immediately brightens and magically gives you 8 hours sleep!

To radiate from within. To seem as if they're walking on water. To look glamorous whilst still capturing the natural beauty they were born with. The Golden Globe actresses last night simply took my breath away with many bringing back one of my favorite trends: ethereal beauty. Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara (ok, maybe she was channeling he dark side of ethereal), Heidi Klum, Elle Macphereson, Emma Stone rocked my fashion core. Channel and recreate the major beauty trends of the Golden Globe awards by following these steps:
First off ladies, it's all about the preparation. Unless you're divinely blessed which let's face it only a select few of us are then we have to work, work, work for perfection and that all comes down to taking care of our skin. I know it's not always a sexy topic, but at the end of the day prepping your skin with a mask or serum can really make your makeup ever better! If you don't trust me, then trust Hollywood because most of them swear by GLAMGLOW. Created in Hollywood, for Hollywood, and little people like you and me of course, the GLAMGLOW Mud Mask! Quickly becoming a b-glowing staff favorite, this miracle mask gently exfoliates your face with green tea leaves and miracle mud dredged from the exotic South of France will leave your skin glowing from the inside out.
Let's talk about the mane. Up-do's, french chignon, 60's beehive, or Elvira Adams straight, there was plenty to talk about in the hair style department. However, I'm a sucker for soft waves a la Elle Macpherson who look absolutely stunning last night in a gorgeous gown and her signature beach tousled hair. The woman doesn't look a day over 35! To recreate her soft romantic curls it's all in the tools baby and my favorite is T3's Single Pass Whirl Curling Wand. It has a tapered barrel to allow for a loose and distressed curl that doesn't look so darn perfect which is exactly what we want! With all of T3 hair styling tools, the heat chosen remains the same throughout the entire styling process which also cuts your hair prep time in half!

At least that's makeup artist Jemma Kidd's mantra and we couldn't agree more. There used to be an old wive's tale years go that once you hit a certain age you shouldn't wear makeup that contained sparkle, especially around the eye area, as it made you appear older. However, those are also the days were "sparkle particles or mica" were so big and made eyes look crepe-y. With formulations adapting as well as a change in outlook, the opportunity to have your makeup shine has never been better, no matter what age. In fact, we could all use a bit more of it in our routine.
"Shimmers reflect light and instantly brighten the eye. Select a neutral shade for a simple day look or pump up the nighttime drama with a bright shimmering shade," says makeup artist Pat McGrath. Jane Fonda, Sophia Loren, Helen Mirren and more are all beautiful women of a mature age who aren't afraid to add a litte sparkle and shine to enhace their beauty. 50 and over and want to add a little radiance to your makeup routine? These Jemma Kidd products that will do it minimally, yet efficiently are: For Eyes: Jemma Kidd's I-ris Enhancers. For Skin: Jemma Kidd's Dewy All Over Radiance. For Lips: Jemma Kidd's Hi-Shine Lip Gloss.

Your wedding will be one of the most memorable moments in your life. From the dress to the decorations everything should be perfect and that includes your makeup. For my wedding five years ago I was so picky about not wanting to look like I had a pancake face that I ended up spending a butt load of money and doing it myself to make sure I looked like a more glamorous version of myself. If you don't plan on having a makeup artist then take a look at my picks below to create a beautiful makeup look for your wedding.
Firstly, the foundation is always one of the most important products as you want a formulation that is light and breathable. I always want my skin to be seen but perfected, not literally camoflaged and suffocating. The perfect foundation for this would be Jemma Kidd's Light As Air Foundation. This ultra-light product will provide a natural foundation for your skin along with a velvet feel and soft focus finish. Your skin will be left matte, without any shine for photos! This was also just featured in GOOP by Gwyneth Paltrow's makeup artist.
I don't always like to use a powder but for photos I think it's important to have just in case the nerves cause you to sweat and have more shine than usual. Paul & Joe's Kitty Matte Pressed Powder goes on effortlessly and feels weightless. Comes with a slightly darker shade for creating contour and a transluscent clear shade for a flawless shine free complexion. This line is also part of the Spring 2012 Meow Collection that is flying off the shelves!Read More »
Valentine's means chocolates, champagne, flowers, perfume and......red lips! If this is a particular color you've been secretly wanting to try but scared it's going be a disaster then there is no better time than now to harness your beauty junkie courage and start drawing outside the lines, of your lips that is. Jemma Kidd Makeup School makes it super easy by giving you a play by play in just a few steps and also suggests the products you can use to make sure your lips will be sure to get kissed this Valentines Day. From their Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme (my personal fav), Ultimate Lipstick Duo in Scarlett and Lip Perfector will guarantee a classic cupid's bow painted red for love. Just make sure you don't drink a coke before hand, remember you're going to need a steady hand which is one thing a product can't do for you!

Judging from the spring and summer fashion shows, 2012 will be a year of fascinating duality. For instance, while some designers selected bright, pop-art lips, others chose to apply just lip conditioner for a natural look. Certain trends (cat eyes, 1950s glamour) will carry over from 2011, while others (full eyebrows, 3D cosmetics) are newly popular. Here are the top beauty trends for 2012, along with product recommendations that can help you stay ahead of the curve:
This is one trend that’s here to stay. Feline eyes graced the Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Louis Vuitton shows. It takes a steady hand and plenty of practice to draw sharp cat eyes on one’s eyelids – not to mention an exceptional product that won’t smudge and leave you looking more like an alley cat. ELLIS FASS eyeliner is excellent for this application; it transforms from a liquid to a matte powder. You get the best of both worlds: liquid for easy application, and powder for staying power.
If you’re especially daring, choose a bright hue for your cat eyes. The Derek Lam show showed how this retro eye style can be edgy if you choose an eye-popping shade of eyeliner. Jemma Kidd Makeup School’s Crushed Jewel Gel liner is a great product. It’s available in diamond, onyx and azure tones, each of which contains glitter, so there’s really no way to ignore a bright stripe of this liner.Read More »
Don't underestimate how important your eyebrows are to the harmony of your facial features. The shape, density and color can really contribute to creating a more youthful and beautiful you, yet it's still an area we tend to neglect. Now more than ever full yet manicured brows are seen all across the fashion pages. If your brows simply have ceased to grow and you find you tiny patches of missing hair then you would really benefit from a brow powder or pencil. The secret is matching the right color and slowly building out until you've achieved the desired definition. Personally, my Jemma Kidd Brow Perfector Shape and Lift Duo has become just as important a part of my morning makeup routine as my bronzer.
This fabulous 2-in-1 product allows you to shape, define and lift the brows for an instant face lift effect. I knew that would get you. Choose from brunette or blonde pencils that on one side have a buildable color crayon with wax that keeps the color looking rich all day. The other side is a highlighter crayon which you can run along the curve of the brow line that helps to create and enhance the arch. When eyebrows appear to be pulled taught, a natural face lift effect occurs. If you've been wanting brows like supermodel Miranda Kerr's then you can fake it with the rest of them, like me, by using a product like Jemma Kidd's Brow Perfector!Read More »
Has your skin joined the BB phenomenon yet? If these two letters don't mean anything to you then you better take notice as they translate to two important things: a saviour for your skin and yourself because it will save you loads of steps in your beauty routine.
First off, a BB cream translates to an all in one beauty balm, basically equal parts tinted moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, mattifier, anti-ager and illuminator! Asia has already caught on to the BB craze, with many ladies foregoing foundation, and it's quickly catching on in the USA with Jemma Kidd's BB Skin Rescue Bio Complex Veil. Every girl dreams of one product that does absolutely everything and cuts 20 minutes off their precious primping time and this one does it for sure! It can be used for a makeup base with it's stay put texture while also protecting with SPF 15, plumping and evening out fine wrinkles, and illuminating the skin with a gorgeous radiance.
Every girl dreams of a product that does everything so make sure a Jemma Kidd BB Skin Rescue Bio Complex Veil fills up some prime real estate in your makeup bag!

Have you ever walked down the street and noticed a woman wearing a lipstick that just doesn't seem to work for her? Sometimes in those instances it can come down to the confidence or style of the woman wearing it or other times it can plain come down to skin tones. Yes, just like foundations the lipstick you choose should compliment the color of your skin. A good rule of thumb when shopping for the perfect lip shade according to Jemma Kidd is to "test on the tip of your fingers. The skin there is very similar in colour and texture to that of your lips, so will give you a good idea as to what the color be."
If you want to get into the 'nitty gritty' of lipstick shopping I'll break it down for you. If you keep these rules in mind even the brightest or scariest shades can suit you:
Porcelain to paler skin typically have a pink skin tone so will suit colors with a cool base. Scarlet reds, brownish pinks and soft apricots compliment this skin tone very well. Be fun and go with a classic red like Jemma Kidd's Ulimate Lipstick Duo in Scarlett.
Fair to olive skin tones more often that not have more of a yellow skin tone so will suit warmer based shades like nudes and pinks. The right shade can be tough to find these that don't have to much blue or orange in them like the Hi-Shine Hydrating Glosstick SPF 15 in Hibiscus.
But wait! As if to make things even more difficult, some people can have both pink and yellow skin tones which are then considered neutral and can wear both cool and warm based shades. Olive skin tones get to pull off my favorites and one of the season's biggest trends, orange. Try Kevyn Aucoin's Elegant Lip Gloss in Vizcaya.
For those dark exotic skin tones, deep warm shades of red, gold or espresso will look stunning. Stand out from the crowd with Jouer's Hydrating Lipstick in Phoebe, a shimmering bronzed wine.
If you're still unsure what all this means, if you naturally gravitate to cool colors as these best suit you, you will have a pink tone. If the opposite is true and you favour wamer colors, you will have a warm, yellow tone. Class dismissed!Read More »
It’s prom season, and the girls are going gaga over metallic eye shadow. But you don’t need to be a teenager or use prom as an excuse in order to experiment with the latest gilded eye makeup. The trick to wearing metallic eye shadow is apply it so it looks beautiful and sexy, not clownish and over the top.
Tips for using metallic eye shadow include:
Carefully match shades. If you’re not sure how to mix and match the latest shimmering colors, cheat with Jemma Kidd makeup. The Jemma Kidd Makeup School cosmetics line includes I-ris Enhancers that provide a trio of perfectly matching metallic colors for your blue, green or brown eyes.
Wear primer. Keep the glimmer in place by using an eye shadow primer over your eyelids as a base. If you don’t have a primer, a cream shadow will do the trick. Let the base dry before applying your metallic eye shadow.Read More »

If there's anything better than prêt-à-porter fashion it's prêt-à-porter makeup. For those who aren't familiar with this industry term, it's english translation means ready to wear. As a girl on the go I definitely try to save time on my beauty routine by using a palette. There's nothing like a little blogger love on a Thursday morning, especially when said blogger talks about some of your favorite beauty items. Seems like Beauty By Benz and I have similar beauty taste with picks from Rodin olio lusso, Jouer Cosmetics and more! Not only does she talk about her love of b-glowing for our eclectic mix of department store favorites, niche products that professional makeup artists go ga-ga for and brands that have built a cult status following over the years but also that our site is just plain cool! Here are the products that made her summer favorites list:
Rodin olio lusso Luxury Face Oil is a makeup artist must have to prep and hydrate the skin to make that perfect canvas for makeup application. Victoria's Secret angels get their amazing runway face glow from Rodin not from the heavens. She talks about how it really absorbs onto the skin rather than resting on top and feeling like an oil spill and the beautiful Jasmine scent makes it ever more luxurious.
Top off that glow with a bit more courtesy of Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint. It's light to medium coverage goes on without feeling heavy and it's dewy formula leaves skin looking fresh and illuminated all day. Add on a bit of pink creamy blush, mascara and gloss and you've created the perfect no fuss summer look.
If you haven't been working on your 'power brow' the time is now. Brows are bigger than ever, both in size and trend so start growing out and enhancing your beautiful arches. She fell in love with the Jouer Brow Fix, a clear taming gel with brush applicator that can be used after filling in your brows with powder or pencil to keep them in place all day long.
Jemma Kidd Contour & Flush Creme Blush Duo is really the perfect summer makeup product because it comes with two different shades. A darker bronze to be used for contouring or bronzing and then a cream blush that gives that perfect soft dewy hint of color. Creamy blushes are really ideal for summer because they don't look streaky or uneven as a powder blush can occasionally appear if a liquid base is beneath it. Sometimes the color sticks to different areas which can be a little frustrating when you're in a hurry but not the case with creamy based ones!
