Must Have Fragrances!

Bookmark and Share Posted on 10/14/2011

We're so picky about what scents we carry at b-glowing because perfume is so particular and differs vastly by individual taste. It's hard to please everyone so we try to carry fragrances that withstand stand the test of time, that's notes remain classic, sexy and always intriguing. I found this quote by fragrance expert Michael Edwards which is spot on when talking about the relationship women have with perfume...

"When women are asked why they no longer buy a certain fragrance, more often than not they answer,'because no-one seemed to notice that I was wearing it.' Fragrance is a silent conversation. Would you keep talking, if no-one replied?"

"When women are asked why they no longer buy a certain fragrance, more often than not they answer,'because no-one seemed to notice that I was wearing it.' Fragrance is a silent conversation. Would you keep talking, if no-one replied?"

Perfume is powerful and inotoxicating. When I was younger I would switch mine so many times, trying to be on the cutting edge of fragrance by always wearing the latest without thinking to much about why I actually chose it. Now, I find that finding the right perfume is an art. I find myself thinking if my husband will like it or what does this perfume say about my personality. I think it's important to always have two scents on your nightstand. An everyday light scent as well as a sexy, muskier scent for the evening. I'm not really a musky type girl as I always thought they could be to overpowering so I would shy away from even trying them. But now I have one that I absolutely love and I do find myself crossing over and using it in the afternoon as well. As in makeup, I'm always looking for the perfect scents and I believe these two are necessities.

The latest fragrance to b-glowing is Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist. Donna as I'm sure many of you know is one of America's best designers. She just gets women and makes clothes that are comfortable and so stylish. I trust her fashion taste completely so I knew her nose would lead her in choosing the perfect fragrance to represent her female fans. A sheer scent inspired by the feel of cashmere upon a woman's skin, this fragrance combines Moroccan jasmine, lily of the valley and bergamot with warm undertones of sandalwood, amber and musk.

Now if we move onto evening, my romantic scent counterpart is Tom Ford's Black Orchid, a sensuous blend of Black Truffle and Ylang mingled with fresh Bergamot and delectable Black Currant. I really didn't think I was going to like this one but I'm pleased to say I actually purchased my first musky scent! This perfume is absolutely divine and really brings out your playful, sexier side. It's strong without being overpowerful which is the perfect combination in my eyes. A great perfume should draw people in, closer and closer, until they their willpower is gone and they have to ask that same age old question, "What perfume are you wearing?"
