Here's to prepping for next year! Although Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week has ended I'm sure many models, photographers, designers and attendees are breathing a well deserved sigh of relief. It sounds like it's all parties and air-kisses but for all those who work behind the scenes, zipping from one show to the next and attending one late night soiree after another can wreak havoc on your skin. Think of all the puffy eyes and dehydration lines that now have to be attended to. Now, say we were a little bit more organized for next year we could nip those under eye bags in the bud before they even begin to puff.
Thanks to skyn ICELAND next season will be a lot less stressful on your skin because of their fashion rescue set otherwise known as the Skin Hangover Kit. Skyn Iceland is the leader of skincare solutions for stressful skin and this set is jam packed with 4 products that will rescue your complexion before it even has time to show signs of a 911 skin emergency. The Skin Hangover Kit includes smaller versions of the Arctic Face Mist (refreshing and toning mist), Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels (cooling under eye patches), Antidote Cooling Daily Lotion (lightweight moisturizer to cool stressed skin) and the Icelandic Relief Eye Pen, a portable pen to minimize puffiness!
Founder Sarah Kugleman recently took us backstage at the Charlotte Ronson Fall 2013 show at New York Fashion Week to share the skyn ICELAND product secrets to getting the models skin runway ready! Watch this behind the scenes video here!

Although my jaw didn’t drop in awe and amazement at last nights Oscars there were a few fashion moments that caught my attention and could tell put a lot of effort into their overall look. Unlike Miss Kristen Stewart who looked like she walked through a hurricane before she came out on stage to present, many ladies pulled out their Hollywood glamour card, bare decollete, Veronica Lake curls and all. Here are some of my favorite fashion/beauty moments of the night.
The beautiful Jessica Chastain has been compared to a young Meryl Streep for her poise and humbleness and you can tell that this girl loves fashion and understands what these award shows are all about. She’s looked amazing all award season and last night she wowed in a nude, figure hugging Armani Prive gown complimented with a red slip and vintage waves. Definitely my favorite ‘hair and makeup’ look of the night, she was a winner even though she didn’t take home the golden statue.
Maybe you have to be a 5’ 10” former model with a statuesque figure like Charlize Theron to pull off her all white Dior Haute Couture dress but I think it all came down to the flattering nature of her gorgeous and extreme pixie cut. Her body looked amazing but all eyes went straight to her exquisite bare décolletage and curve of neck. She is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood so doesn’t need a lot of makeup so I love that she kept it very minimal with light pink cheeks and lips.
Another dream in white was Zoe Saldana. This fashionista never disappoints on a red carpet and she certainly didn’t last night in an Alexis Mabille floor length gown. Although I died over the top half of the dress, I didn’t love the bottom part featuring a sweeping hem exposing several different colors. However, she is just so beautiful and her romantic waves and simple tear drop earrings really pulled the whole ensemble together for me. I bet she made Bradley Cooper think twice about their split!
Of all the glitz encrusted dresses seen on the red carpet I have to say I thought best actress nominee Naomi Watts dazzled in a greyish-silver custom made Armani Prive gown. This dress was tailored to perfection and I loved the bare shoulder cut-out design! A dress like this doesn’t leave a lot of room for accessorizing so I’m glad she kept it simple with a perfectly placed messy up do and rosy cheeks.
There you have it! My picks of the night with special kudos to Mrs Michelle Obama, Octavia Spencer who was a dream in blush nude, and Amy Adams who rocked a light gray ruffled tulle dress. Until next award season, I bid you a fond and fashionable farewell!
