Spring 2013 Beauty Trends

Bookmark and Share Posted on 04/11/2013

Spring has arrived! Whether you are looking for a new makeup look or craving a hairstyle change, we have the scoop on what's hot this season. Check out our top four beauty trends for spring 2013.

Sleek Hair - Take a break from the teasing comb and try a sleeker style. Models on the runway have been sporting less volume in both up and down 'do's. The key to this look is shiny simplicity that is frizz-free. Use Klorane's Leave-In with Papyrus Milk to calm fly aways without weighing the hair down. Tame tresses into a sophisticated ponytail, or leave locks loose - applying to the top layer from the crown down.

Bold Lips - Be brave and be bold. This spring, select a spicy shade to slather on your smoocher. If you tend to shy away from the more brilliant colors, tone down your look by keeping the eyes neutral. If you are ready to embrace the drama, pair your militant mouth with classic cat-eye liner. Ready to pump up the power to your pucker? Try new BECCA Ultimate Matte Lip Colour in Aurora - a gorgeous coral red shade. Or give yourself over to the dark side with Kevyn Aucoin's The Expert Lip Color in Bloodroses - a deep blood red.

Big Brows - Big brows are here to stay. It seems like FOREVER ago when we put away our tweezers and let our brows run free. It looks like the caterpillar trend is going strong - at least for now. Looking to enhance your eyebrow? Try Talika's Eyebrow Extender to naturally thicken the hairs you have, then apply IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil to restore brow hair follicles and fill in bare patches.

Pale Nails - Hot off the runway, neutral nails are everywhere this season. Move your bright reds and pinks to your tootsies and try a nude hue on your hands. Searching for the perfect sheer shade to enhance your skin tone? Try HIPPxRGB's complexion complimenting collections.

We hope we have helped you navigate the trends this season. Stay tuned to bglowing.com's Magazine for more beauty insights!

We look to the runway to identify the latest in fashion, beauty, and hair. So why not nail color? Introducing b-glowing.com's newest lacquer line, LVX.

LVX is fashion-inspired polish that takes it's hue cues directly from what's trending in the fashion world. Consider this your backstage pass and strike a pose with their unique line of provocative polish pigments.

We love that LVX offers intriguing nail lacquer colors that are vegan-friendly, AND cruelty and five free. Our faves are Citrine - a gorgeous tangerine color, and Cerulean - an opaque deep blue hue.

«Behind the Brand: Clark's Botanicals -

Shop Clark's Botanicals here.

Hailed by celebrities and beauty mags alike, Clark's Botanicals has established itself as a plant-based skincare line, specializing in rebalancing the skin regardless of type. What's maybe even more fascinating than the results you'll see using their product, is the story of how the company came to be.

In the summer of 2002, founder Francesco Clark (pictured) suffered a crippling spinal cord injury in a swimming pool accident. Shortly after losing his ability to walk, Clark discovered he had also lost his ability to sweat, leading to clogged pores and chronic breakouts.

Enter Francesco's father, Dr. Harold Clark. Trained in both traditional Western medicine and homeopathy, Dr. Clark worked with his son to develop botanically-based formulas that effectively rebalanced his skin - clearing it up entirely. Word got around about their plant-based cure, and in 2005 (three years after Francesco's accident) Clark's Botanicals was launched.
