This exquisite line of hand-crafted brushes was created in 1885 by engineer and inventor Mason Pearson. But for a few small changes in their design made before 1920, the brushes are still made today the same way that they were over 100 years ago. Creating each brush by hand and then polishing them to perfection results in a brush that is comfortable to hold and will not pull or damage the hair shaft.
Mason Pearson brushes have a pneumatic cushion (internationally patented), made of natural rubber, that allows the bristles to conform to the shape of the head, facilitating optimum volume of bristle coming into contact with optimum volume of hair. The pure premium boar bristle facilitates the distribution of the sebum and maximizes each stroke due to the spired tufting of the bristle. Moreover, the bristle stimulates circulation of blood to the hair follicles, massages and exfoliates the scalp, and polishes the cuticle of the hair which results in increased shine and body.
