As sweater season rolls around—and dark, dramatic makeup dominates the runways—it’s easy to get lost beneath all the layers. Instead of piling on extra clothing and makeup, we’ve decided to freshen things up for Fall. Our Look of the Moment: simple, minimal touches that enhance your best features and let your authentic beauty shine through.
For flawless looking skin, apply a small amount of Surratt Beauty’s Surreal Skin Foundation to the center of the face. Gently blend outward using the built-in brush.
Next, reach for Amazing Cosmetic’s AmazingConcealer Illuminate. A traditional concealer is too heavy for this fresh-faced look, so we opted for a lighter, luminzing formula. Sweep a small amount of beneath eyes and over any imperfections, blending thoroughly with your fingers for a smooth, natural finish.
To chisel your cheekbones, grab It Cosmetic’s My Sculpted Face palette. Dip your brush into your desired shade, and gently dust under the hollows of the cheekbones. For added definition, brush along the jawline and forehead as well.
Next, highlight your best features with Kevyn Aucoin’s The Guardian Angel Cream Highlighter. Dab onto bridge of the nose, cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and underneath your brows. For the most natural finish, we recommend using your fingers to press the formula into skin.
To give eyes subtle definition, Reach for By Terry’s Eye Designer Palette in Forest desire. Dip your brush into the lightest shade, blending the shadow all over lids and up into the crease. Use a fingertip to gently blur and soften the edges.
Finish things off with an eye-popping lash. First, curl your natural lashes with an eyelash curler, allowing them to blend seamlessly with the falsies. If your lashes are blond, apply a thin coat of black mascara for camouflage.
Next, trim the false lashes to the length of your eye, ensuring a perfect fit. Then, squeeze a thin line of eyelash glue to the base of the lash. Allow the glue to air dry for a few seconds, until it takes on a tacky texture. Press the strip onto your natural lashline, and hold in place until dry. Repeat the process on the other eye.
Keep lips soft and subtle with Obsessive Compulsive’s Lip Tar in Synth. The hydrating formula adds a gorgeous pop of color to lips, and imparts a sultry shine. Using the wand, apply color over the entire lip, slowly building to your desired hue. Apply generously for an ultra-glossy finish.
If you’re looking for a fresh way to make a statement this fall, nothing is more unexpectedly beautiful than an easy, laid-back look. No fuss, no frills, and nothing to distract from your own dazzling beauty.
