Confession time: my makeup bag looks like something from an episode of A&E’s Hoarders. As a b-glowing employee, I’ve amassed more than my fair share of beauty products, and—once they make it into my makeup bag—they never seem to make it out. Oops.
It’s to the point where my makeup bag is heavier than my actual purse. Check it out:
Pretty bad, right? Long gone are the days I could actually zip the darn thing, and—without a good five to ten minutes of voracious digging—I can never seem to find what I’m looking for. Obviously, I need to chuck some things out, but how do I lighten my day-to-day load without losing everything I need? (FYI: I NEED to be able to get glam at a moment’s notice. Need.) The answer? Multitaskers. In an attempt to give my makeup bag a much-needed breather, I’ve swapped everything out for six (yep, just six) multi-functional products. Below, my makeup bag makeover:
I swapped my foundation, concealer, and blender for:
This three-in-one foundation stick makes obtaining complexion perfection a breeze. The creamy formula is full-coverage enough to work as a concealer, but blendable enough wear all over as a foundation. What’s more, it comes with a built-in sponge to help you buff your way to ultra-smooth, flawless finish. Perfect for travel and on-the-go touchups, anything by TRÈSTIQUE is a guaranteed space-saver.
I swapped my primer and color corrector for:
If you’re anything like me, primer and color corrector are must-haves for your makeup bag. This palette is perfect for my space-saving experiment since it minimizes imperfections, evens skin tone, brightens, hydrates and primes the skin.
I swapped my lipstick and blush for:
I swapped my eyeshadow, brow powder, and eyeliner for:
No makeup bag is complete without an eyeshadow palette, and lilah b.’s Eye Quads are perfect for keeping it simple. The buildable, versatile shades offer a subtle dusting of color, and are layberable if you desire more intense pigment. The best part? The darkest shade in the quad doubles as an eyeliner when applied wet, with a brush. Since I’m a natural blonde, I even use the lightest shade to fill in my brows, too.
I swapped my setting spray, refresher, and an extra cup of coffee for:
I swapped my mascara for:
HA HA, just kidding. I did not swap out my mascara, because every self-respecting lady needs a tube of it on her person at all times. No one can force me to give my mascara up, okay? Anyways, it only takes up a teeny-tiny amount of space, so we’re all good.
And there you have it. My beautifully streamlined, six-piece makeup bag. Strangely enough, I have yet to miss the twelve tubes of liquid lipstick I was toting around…
