What if you could get brighter, smoother, clearer skin with the push of a button? Well—thanks to the newest wave of at-home skin care tools for mature skin—you kind of can. From a high-tech cleansing brush, to electrical currents, to a device that suctions your skin, these beauty tools use doctor’s-office technology to bring you noticeable results—no trip to the dermatologist required. Below, four amazing, at-home skin care devices, and which one is right for you:

#1. NuFACE Trinity Facial Toning Device

A woman using a NuFace microcurrent device

What it does: Lifts, tones and smoothes skin with low-level electrical currents. If anti-aging is your primary concern, this device is for you.

Who it’s for: NuFACE is suitable for all skin types and ages, and can be used all over the face. It even comes with special attachments for eyes and lips.

How it works: The device sends micro-currents of electricity deep into the skin, setting off a series of cellular changes, including the production and storage of collagen and elastin. The result is an improved, lifted appearance, better skin tone and balance, and diminished pores.

What to expect: Even though NuFACE sends electricity into the skin, it’s not painful. In fact, it feels a little bit like a cold, tingly massage. The device offers an immediate tightening effect after the first use, and—with continued use—leaves skin lifted and firmed.

Why we love it: Two words: instant gratification. If we want to look better in five minutes flat, NuFace is our go-to. As soon as we finish just one treatment, our skin looks noticeably tighter. And since microcurrent treatments don’t require any downtime, the device has become a staple in our party-prep routines. We can put makeup on afterward, and go about our routines as usual. With continued, daily use, the NuFACE offers long-term results, too. In just sixty days, we saw a significant improvement in facial contour, skin tone, and wrinkle reduction.

#2. ZIIP

Ziip nanocurrent device

What it does: The device uses nano-current technology to treat numerous skin conditions, ranging from acne to anti-aging.  It boosts radiance, enhances lymphatic drainage, kills blemish-causing bacteria, accelerates cellular turnover and more!

Who it’s for: ZIIP is suitable for all skin types, even highly reactive, sensitive skin. It’s great for those with multiple skincare concerns, i.e, acne and aging.

How it works: ZIIP sends nano-sized electrical currents deep in the cellular level of your skin to promote the production of collagen and elastin, plumping and smoothing from the inside out. Nano currents also zap bacteria that’s causing acne, boost radiance, and enhance lymphatic drainage. You can look forward to seeing brighter, clearer skin after just four to five sessions with your ZIIP.

What to expect: There is no pain or recovery time with ZIIP, and the treatment is much less sensory than you might expect. The metal discs may feel warm on your skin, but in a pleasant way. Much like the NuFACE, you will see both immediate and cumulative effects.

Why we love it: We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again—having a ZIIP is like having your own personal facialist, right at your fingertips. We love the device’s versatility, and how it addresses more concerns than just aging. In fact, the ZIIP offers not one, but four electrical facials—anti-aging, sensitivity, acne, or treating the delicate eye area. It’s basically all the benefits of clinical treatments, without the clinic.

#3: FOREO Luna 2

FOREO LUNA 2

What it does: If lasers and microcurrents aren’t your jam, might we suggest an alternative approach to treating mature skin? The Luna 2 is first and foremost a cleansing brush, but it also addresses concerns related to aging—fine lines, wrinkles, and firmness, to name a few.

Who it’s for: The Luna 2 is suitable for everyone—they even have skin type-specific brush heads for sensitive, oily, combination, and men’s skin.

How it works: In additional to unclogging pores, buffing away dead cells, and leaving skin squeaky-clean, the Luna 2 uses gentle vibrations to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

What to expect: After cleansing, just flip the device and apply the opposite surface to your wrinkle-prone areas. The reverse side uses lower-frequency pulsations to visibly reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and leave skin looking firm and lifted. As for sensation, the Luna 2’s soft, silicone touch-points gently massage your skin, making for a pleasant, pain-free experience. Bonus! The LUNA 2 also improves the absorption of your favorite skincare products.

Why we love it: As busy ladies, we’re suckers for anything that saves us time and space. Instead of reaching for two separate devices, the Luna 2 seamlessly combines our cleansing routine with a treatment for aging skin. So whether you’re looking to fight acne or smooth away fine lines, the Luna 2 makes an amazing skincare workhorse.

#4. Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System

Conture vs Nuface

What it does: Basically,  Conture is a gym for your skin. Like a personal trainer for your face, this gentle, hand-held device helps you tone your way to tighter, brighter, more refreshed-looking complexion.

Who it’s for: Conture is suitable for anyone who wants to diminish signs of aging quickly and painlessly.

How it works:  Think of Conture as a workout, but for your face instead of your bod. It gently suctions up and releases skin, stimulating blood flow and exercising facial muscles to produce a brighter, tighter complexion.

What to expect: In terms of sensation, Conture is kind of like a tiny, handheld vacuum. It’s totally painless—you’ll feel some light suctioning action, but that’s it! To use, slowly glide the device along your face and neck after cleansing, pausing three to five seconds before each glide. Repeat the process as many times as you need to fully cover the treatment area. Bonus! There’s even a gentle setting for the delicate tissue around the eyes.

Why we love it: It’s not just our bodies that need those gains—our complexions do, too! Unlike a strenuous weight-lifting session, however, Conture doesn’t completely suck. (Well, it does, but it’s effortless and easy, and won’t make you sweat. You know what we mean.) The best part? After using it for a month, several b-glowing staffers reported tighter, firmer, more luminous skin. So if you’re looking to combat signs of aging without making a huge financial/time commitment, Conture is the perfect device for you. Go on, tell fine lines and wrinkles to suck it!

  1. Hi,

I was looking in to purchasing a ZIIP but reading your reviews on all 3 devices now I wondering which one is the best. I’m 40 my concerns are around the eyes and I would love the skin to be lifted around the cheeks for a more fresher look. Which of the 3 devices would you recommend. Thank You.

    1. Hello Lorraine,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us about our skincare devices! With the concerns you have expressed, I think the best device that can be really targeted for the eye and cheek area would be the NuFace Haute Contour Facial Toning Set since it has attachments that can treat all of those areas in one value set. We’ve seen such amazing results with this deceive ourselves as well as our customers.

  2. Hi, I ‘m also in between the NuFace and the ZIIP… I’m 44 and want to prevent loose of firmness, elasticity, and want a youthful plumped glowing skin… omg i’m so confused . Can you guide me on this… it seems that i need both?

    1. Hello,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us regarding our skincare devices! With the concerns you have expressed, I think the best device that will target your multiple skin concerns would be the Ziip Beauty device. It’s so perfect for preventative care as well. Plus, we have a 30-day return policy if you’re not satisfied with your product so there’s no risk it trying it out!

    2. Well, I bought both and I find ZIIP easier to use. I’ve seen single day results with both, I’m only 24 but nudace helped me depuff and get slightly lifted after a heavy sleepless night. I used the ZIIP only for its acne, under eye and pigmentation treatment yet. Again quick results but I’m not sure if its great for lifting. The only reason why I enjoy ZIIP more apart from its multiple uses is the fact that I just have to glide in easy to remember directions constantly, so I don’t get laZy doing it. I also find the texture of the gel better. Nuface has written directions instead, and it becomes harder to pick, place and drag it and remember reason it. Its a more cumbersome process.

  3. Hi, I am 30 and was wondering should I start using these devices? If yes, which one is best suited for me. I have uneven skin tone and I am looking for something that is preventive(in terms of aging.)

  4. Hi! I’m 53 and was sick for several years. I’m feeling better, but I look older with deep wrinkles between my eyes, around my lips, and starting on my cheeks. My neck is also looking “old.” Which product works best on deep wrinkles and loss of firmness?

    1. Hi Lu Ann,
I’m so happy to hear you’re feeling better but know it’s difficult to see changes physically stick around. The good news is there are so many wonderful tools to help you feel as good on the outside as you do inside!
I would recommend the ZIIP device for the overall loss of firmness and deep wrinkles you’re experiencing. It works so well on your neck as well!
      Thanks for reaching out!

      1. Just a note: It is NOT recommended to use Ziip on the chest, as electrical signals may interfere with heart function, according to the Ziip instructions.

  5. Hi, I am in my late 50´s and am concerned with jowls and loose skin- Which of the 2 (NuSkin/Ziip) would you recommend?

    1. Yes, you can still use Ziip with an Android but the app only works with an iPhone at this time. They do not expect an Android app for tracking use any time in the near future.
      b-glowing

    2. You might be stuck with just one program. Which sucks cause its so useful for many other things. The device doesn’t have a physical button to change the program. One has to select and send from the app to the device to change from say, energise to clearing.

  6. Hi. I’m 53 years old concerned with the wrinkle around the eyes, jowl lines and my neck is showing some aging. Which product would be best fo me?

  7. Thank you for the information. Can these devices be used on your neck. I am specifically interested in nuface nut it doesn’t mention that ot can be used on your neck and chest.

    1. Hello!
NuFace is a wonderful tool for your neck and chest. The skin is thinner in those areas than it is on your face so it’s important to make sure you use enough Gel Primer while using the device.
      Thanks for the great question!

      1. Hello, I am 59 years old and trying to decide which device to purchase, the NuFace or Ziip. My skin is sensitive but in good shape and I do not have lots of wrinkles as I have always practiced good skin care. My biggest problem is the skin sagging that is taking place (eyelids, jowls, cheeks, neck, etc.) and hereditary under-eye bags. I have never used botox or fillers. I read that when Nuface came out they said it was safe for use on the neck, but then Nuface changed that and now say not to use it on the neck because it interferes with the thyroid??? Is that true, I’m confused? Can you please clarify and guide me to the product you feel would best treat my concerns? Thank you!

        1. Hello,

Yes, the NuFace can be used on the neck area but you just need to avoid the midline of your neck while using the treatment device.
It’s also a great option for all of the other areas you’d expressed you’d like to treat.
Let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

  8. Hi, I have the Illuminage and the Nuface. I really like using both but I am confused about how often I can use each – are alternate days okay. Can I use both on the same day?, etc.

    1. Hello!
Great question! We definitely recommend alternating days for these devices and slow use if you notice any skin irritation.
      Thanks for sharing!

  9. I am 45 and am looking for device to get rid of eye wrinkles and also to lift eyes and jowls. Can any device help with both and/or indented acne scars

    1. Hi Melanie,

The Ziip device works wonders around eyes and lips and our customers have seen great results in those areas. Neither NuFace nor Ziip have been FDA proven to reduce the look of indented acne scars but they both boost collagen which can give your skin a plumped look overall!

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
      Thanks,

  10. Hi. I am 60 years old. I notice fine lines when smiling that disappear when my face is just normal. Also I have cheeks that are becoming dimpled with loose skin on neck and chin areas becoming noticeable . Which device would you recommend to address my concerns?
    Thank you

    1. Hi Karen,

It sounds like the NuFace Trinity would be great for your skincare concerns. You may be experiencing a loss of collagen where lines and dimples are more noticeable and NuFace has been proven to create new cell growth to help reduce their appearance.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
      Thanks!

  11. Hello I am 37 and really don’t have very many wrinkles. My main concern is dropping eye lids. I wanted to know which device the Nuface or Ziip would help with that. Also my laugh lines are starting to get deep. Also does the Ziip really plump lips?
    Thank you!

    1. Hello,

Yes, Ziip really does plump lips and it’s great for the eye area too.
I really do like the NuFace Trinity with the ELE Attachment for the eye area since the surface area is so small, you can get really targeted with this device.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!

  12. Hello. Thank you for all the info. I have the Nuface and have been very happy with the lift it has given me. It has helped a bit with fine lines and wrinkles. I’m thinking of adding the Ziip to my routine. Do you think it will help with fine lines and wrinkles especial under the eyes, crows feet and forehead wrinkles? I am 57 years old. Thank you!

    1. Hello Jenny,
The NuFace Trinity with the ELE attachment is wonderful at targeting fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, has special attachments to cover smaller surfaces. https://www.b-glowing.com/nuface-trinity-facial-trainer-kit-trinity-ele-attachment/
Our customers with those same issues have seen amazing results with NuFace. It’s also one of our best selling products!

  13. Hi!

I have braces on my higher and my lower jaw. Can I use Nu face/ziip or the current will hurt me?

    Thanks!
    Malgo

    1. Hi Malgo,

That’s a great question! We reached out to both NuFACE® and Ziip with your concern, and there are no known issues with using these devices with dental implants or braces. However, if you still feel concerned still, please consult with your dentist.

      Thanks!

  14. Hi . I’m currently breastfeeding . Are either Ziip or Nuface ok to use? I can’t see anything in the gels that aren’t safe but wasn’t sure about the electrical currrent aspect . Thanks

    1. Hi Surina,

We recommend keeping your NuFace and Ziip items off of the center of your neck area whether you’re breastfeeding or not, and consulting with your doctor to see if he or she would recommend waiting until after you’re done breastfeeding before starting treatment in that area.

      Thanks for the great question!

  15. Hi,

I’ve had the nuface since Christmas, and unfortunately just haven’t been able to get on with it at all. I never suffer from headaches, but every time I use it, I have a headache for the rest of the day as well as what is best described as a really foggy thinking. The next day, bavk to normal. I’ve tried it on the lowest settings, using it every other day ect, just using the attachment, but the same result every time. A little reading online, and apparently I’m not the only person to experience this.

I loved the effects on my skin, which made it even more frustrating, so I’m looking for something to do a similar job, without the side effects. Would the Ziip be worth trying do you think? Is nanocurrent different enough from microcurrent to possibly resolve the issue?

    Thank you.

    1. Hi Kelly,

I’m so sorry to hear your experience with NuFace! We haven’t heard of any Ziip related headache complaints from our customers or from research online.
If you want to try Ziip, we do have a 30-day return policy, so you’re welcome to try it out and see if the nano-current technology is better for you.

Thanks and let me know if you have any further questions.

  16. Hi,

I am 58 years old and am most interested in help with hyper pigmentation, tired looking eyes and firmness. What would you recommend please?

    Thank you,
    Christine

    1. Hi Christine,

We recommend the NuFace Trinity to address these issues. I especially love this device because the attachments have such a small surface area, it’s really easy to get close enough to your eye area.

  17. Hi,

I’m 33 and my primary concern is to maintain facial volume and tone, cheek / jaw fullness and contour, skin firmness and plumping (and prevent overall sagging / loss of volume). So, a filler effect, in a way.

I’m concerned about the ongoing costs involved with purchasing the conductive gel required with the use of Ziip (and I’ve been informed by the Ziip team that an alternative conductive product cannot be used with their device).

I’m leaning towards the NuFace Trinity All-in-One…

Which would address my needs better and be most effective for facial volume / plumping / contour / skin firmness / anti-sagging? Can the NuFace be used in a similar way to plump the lips?

    Warm regards,

    Vivien

    1. Hi Vivien,

Both NuFace and Ziip have their own conducting solutions that they each recommend to use with their devices.

The only device you can use without a solution is the NuFace Wrinkle Reducer attachment so if you’re looking to reduce the amount of extra product you have to buy, this is a great option!

NuFace doesn’t have any claims to plumping lips like Ziip does.

  18. I’ve read that aloe vera gel can be used in lieu of the conductive gel that is sold with NuFace. I haven’t read anywhere that says it can be used with Ziip. Do you know if aloe vera can be used with Ziip?Ziip really has my attention, but I can’t get my head and wallet around the expensive gel. I’m nearly 40 and have a great complexion, but have sun spots popping up, bags under my eyes and slight sagging above the eyes and around the mouth. Thanks!

    1. Hi JC,

Ziip Beauty does not recommend using aloe vera gel in lieu of the conductive product they offer.
Aloe could possibly dry a lot faster and soak into the skin easier than the Ziip gel. One of the many amazing qualities of this Conductive Gel is that the slip you need to finish the treatment is so easy and smooth with this product and it keeps your skin comfortable throughout the treatment. The good news is that a little goes a long way and the product you receive is enough for several months of treatment.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any further questions.

  19. I, too, am deciding between Ziip and NuFace and would love your advice. I am 63 and have used retina A since I was 35 so no deep wrinkles. My biggest concerns are hooded eyes, eye bags, and fine and slightly deeper facial wrinkles, including around my eyes and above my upper lip, and also my softening upper neck skin. Your thoughts? Thank you!

  20. Hello, I’m 41 and looking for a skin care tool that will give me the most bang for my buck to correct sagging skin around my cheeks — especially my nasolabial folds. I don’t yet have any other wrinkles around the eyes, forehead or neck so my biggest concern is keeping my skin firm and elastic to counter any sagging. Would you recommend the Nuface or the Ziip?

    1. Hi Katharine,

We recommend the NuFace Trinity to address these issues. The attachments have such a small surface area and makes really easy to get close enough to your eye area and smile lines!

Thanks and feel free to reach out with further questions!

  21. Hi. I’m 44 and considering buying the Ziip. My main concerns are hooded eyes, but overall tightening of skin throughout my face and neck/jawline would be wonderful as well. Another major concern is that I also suffer from large pores that I would love to shrink! I have used so many different products that seem to work temporarily, but only temporarily. I would love to find something to remedy a little more permanent. I love glowing healthy looking skin, what would you recommend?

    1. Hi Kari,

I would actually recommend NuFACE for your concerns. The attachments makes it very easy to target the eye area and the Gel Primer 24K Gold Complex- Brighten will help reduce the appearance of pores while giving you a healthy glow!

Please feel free to reach out with any further questions!
