b-glowing Staffers Shop Their Beauty Stash

Staff Beauty Picks

These days, we’re getting used to a new kind of normal—working from home, socializing via video chat, and planning downtime without travel. Through it all, we’re discovering ways to keep ourselves happy and healthy from the comfort of home. And if you’re anything like us, this includes ample amounts of organizing and cleaning. So, I tasked a few of our b-glowing staff to dive into those full, untidy beauty drawers and bathroom shelves to rediscover skincare and beauty products they love. Read on to see what tried and true beauty faves these b-glowing staffers can’t live without.

Christophe Robin

Holly, Senior Merchandising Manager

I am washing my hair less often, but when I do wash, I love to use Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts. It gives me a deep clean and adds volume so I can let my hair air dry and use less product. I love that it’s sulfate-free, but still gives me an amazingly luxurious lather.

I have also transitioned from long-wear matte lipsticks to a tinted gloss for spring. I love that Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss provides a pop of color along with hydration. It doesn’t feel like I am doing ‘too much’ when I wear it at home.

Kai Bathing Bubbles

Erika, Creative Director

As a new mom, finding time for myself has been tricky—but when I do find time to relax, I try to make it a special experience. I’ve been taking bubble baths with Kai’s Bathing Bubbles as a little retreat. The scent brings me back to a vacation in Hawaii.

I’m also taking less time with my makeup each morning, so I absolutely love a multi-tasker! Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation is full-coverage, so it hides my dark circles (thanks, newborn sleep deprivation!) and hyperpigmentation well enough that I don’t even need a concealer.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

Rania, Graphic + UX Designer

I am big on hyaluronic acid these days and one key property of ‘HA’ is that it absorbs the water around it (it can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water, which gives it its plumping abilities). The downside is, if there isn’t enough moisture in the atmosphere, it starts pulling moisture from the epidermis and dermis–the deeper layers of your skin. To combat the effect, I spray my face with Avene’s Thermal Spring Water first, then lock in the moisture with a hyaluronic acid serum of my choice. The spring water is also rich in silicate and trace elements that are shown to combat redness and sensitivity. So, it’s a win-win for my skin!

I’m so glad that I stocked up on SK-II Facial Treatment Essence before the lockdown. It is such a staple in my skincare routine. This essence is packed with vitamins, amino acids, minerals, organic acids, and other good stuff. It’s like a morning smoothie for my skin and the perfect pick-me-up to start the day.
