Festival Braid Tutorial

04.07.2015

Headed to Coachella, bella? We had a blast putting this tutorial together for you. Lose yourself in the music while looking like a goddess, ladies.

1. Prep & Curl with Sultra

Prepare your mane with a thorough brushing while your SultraThe Bombshell” Curling Iron heats up. Once hot, curl from the base to the ends by carefully wrapping small sections of hair around the iron by holding the ends of your hair. Be sure to keep your fingers away from the hot iron.

 2. Texturize with Balmain

Once cooled, gently separate and relax the curls. Next, prime your hair for braiding and make your tresses look as carefree as you are by giving an all-over spritz and tousle using Balmain’s Texturizing Salt Spray.

 3. Braid

Take a small section from the top of one side. Begin a small French braid, but instead of pulling strands under, pull them over, making a “Dutch” braid. As you gather, keep the braid close to your hairline to frame your face. When your Dutch braid reaches the top of the ear, make a regular braid. Secure the end of your hair with a small hair band.  Repeat steps on the other side of your head.

4. Style

Soften the braid by slightly pulling to loosen pieces of the Dutch braid. Then, take the braid ends and pin under the bottom of the opposite braid, hiding the secured ends.

5. Finish with Color WOW

Pump some Color Wow Pop & Lock Crystallite Shellac in your hands, and run fingers through your curls and on top of your braid to give your hair a shimmer that won’t quit. Add some extra pieces of flair as desired.

Bonus! Keep this look rocking all weekend with Klorane Dry Shampoo.
