If your skin gets sensitive—redness, dryness, breakouts, itchiness—First Aid Beauty is here to give it some TLC. The entire line is free of harsh chemicals and known allergens: you won’t find parabens, phthalates, alcohol, fragrances, or artificial dyes that can upset your skin, even making it suitable for people with eczema. Oh, did we mention it really works? A lot of sensitive-skin products are so gentle that your skin may not get irritated, but you won’t see any actual results, either. Not the case with First Aid Beauty, whose products still get down to business. Here are a few of our favorites:
The colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, eucalyptus oil, glycerin in this rich, non-greasy cream are VIPs for hydrating skin that’s intensely dry; rub it in and you won’t find peeling, cracks, or flakes. The cream is also great for soothing minor skin irritations from bug bites, eczema, rashes, and poison ivy, oak, and sumac.
When you first squeeze it from the tube, the cleanser has a whipped texture, but when you add water, it transforms into a rich cream, so you only need a small amount. The cleanser preserves your skin’s natural oils so your face is hydrated and protected, but still free of surface oil, dirt, and makeup. While the PH-balanced suds cleanse, they also calm redness and irritation and add a dose of botanical antioxidants.
Facial Radiance Pads
Everyone wants to fight fine lines, reduce the appearance of pores, and make skin clearer and more even, but some products that do that can shred sensitive skin (hello, painful tingling and peeling!). One swipe of these pads contains just the right amount of lactic acid, glycolic acid, lemon peel, and licorice root to make them effective, but still safe for daily use on sensitive skin.
Ultra Repair Lip Therapy
Who wants something made with petroleum (a byproduct of crude oil!) on their lips? This petroleum-free formula hydrates with botanical soothers instead, including jojoba oil, shea butter, and grape seed oil. Its super-light scent and colorless formula make this “therapy” the perfect treatment for stressed or dry lips.
Some people with acne or naturally oily skin use drying anti-acne products, but are scared of adding a moisturizer, since so many of them only make skin feel greasier and more clogged. This one stops dryness in its tracks but has been proven to be non-comedogenic, so it won’t cause breakouts. Using meadowfoam seed oil, avocado oil, and shea butter, skin is naturally made softer and better hydrated, and has a light, velvety feel on your face.
