Don’t get us wrong—we love the moody tones of winter. (As Pacific Northwesterners, we kind of have to. Hello, grey and gloomy skies!) But as spring coaxes buds into bloom, Mother Nature’s dreamiest colors begin to emerge, and we find ourselves pining after petal tones. This season, we're taking our color cues directly from the flowers, matching our makeup to spring’s beautiful, blooming palette. And what better way to celebrate spring than by using our favorite clean, natural, and eco-friendly makeup? Read on, and prepare to get petal-pretty!
To best channel blossoms into beauty, we opted for a palette of soft, petal pinks and powdery purples. While these may seem like obvious color choices for spring, we promise—there’s nothing ordinary about this Look. With its mix of cool tones and luminous finishes, it’s light and fresh, yet full of drama. Even better, it's easy to replicate and wear in real life.
To create our model’s rich pinky-purple eye, we used a fluffy brush to apply RMS Swift Shadow in EM-68 Enchanted Moonlight above the lid, close to the brow bone. Then, using the same brush, we swept RMS Swift Shadow in GR-19 Garden Rose along the lash line and up to the natural curve of our model’s eye socket. Finally, for added illumination, we added RMS Swift Shadow in SB-43 Sunset Beach to the inner corners of the eyes. To complete the full, petal-y package, we swiped Vapour’s Siren Lipstick in Hint on lips, then paired it with a similarly-colored blush—Kosa’s Color & Light in 8th Muse. Lastly, we gave our model full, fluttery lashes. A generous, pitch-black coating of mascara helps to offset the inherent sweetness of a pastel look.
To complement the petal-y pastels, we finished this look with a fresh, dewy base. We used Kjaer Weis’s signature Trifecta—the Beautiful Oil, Foundation, and Translucent Powder—which creates completely seamless, natural-looking coverage. First, we primed our model’s skin with the Beautiful Oil, waiting a few minutes for it to absorb fully. Next, we applied the Foundation, dampening the sponge before bouncing it gently along the skin. Pro tip: when applying foundation, start at the center of the face and blend outwards. Before we set the look, we added extra light and radiance with the Kjaer Weis Cream Highlighter, dabbing a generous amount down the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and brow bone. Finally, to keep everything in place, we swept on the Translucent Powder. We normally wouldn't use powder on such a dewy look, but this formula is so lightweight and non-drying, it sets makeup without stealing your sheen.
