Beauty fads may come and go, but classic glamour never dies. Our look of the moment: a nod to 1950's sophistication, modernized through matte textures.
Since dryness is more noticeable with matte lipstick, start with exfoliated, moisturized lips. Next, create definition with a matching liner, paying special attention to your cupid's bow and corners. Lightly shade lips with pencil, then evenly coat your pout with lipstick. Set—and further mattify—with powder.
Begin by painting your nails with a base coat. Once dry, mark off a half-moon with tape or a blocking liquid (such as hair-extension glue). Paint the entire nail with red polish. Carefully peel the tape or blocking liquid away while polish is still wet. Once everything is dry, apply a mattifying top coat.
Illuminate your complexion by blending a small amount highlighter onto the high points of cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, cupid's bow, and above the arches of brows.
Start with a neutral, champagne shade. Brush the shadow all over your lids, going into the eye socket and above, blending out as you go. Next, dab some gold shadow in the inner corner of the eye, and blend out towards the middle of the eyelid. Use a dark bronze or taupe in your crease to finish the look.
